SPOILS.

this is a step by step guide on how to create an account and compete in our treasure hunts @JoinSPOILS we’ve paid out over 100k in cash prizes to our hunters, we host treasure hunts every weekend and we’re going to be doing this for the rest of the month bit.ly/SpoilsBeta

it’s been over 1 hour since a treasure hunt went live on @JoinSPOILS and the hunters have been at it nonstop they’ve searched, connected clues, questioned everything, and still… nobody has cracked it yet at this point, i’m wondering who’s smart enough to figure it out 💀😂

one of my favorite parts of building SPOILS (@joinspoils) is seeing the community begin to create opportunities that extend beyond the product itself. i’m excited to share that we’ve partnered with The Housz, the brainchild of my homeboy @Thedanieloreofe for the next edition of Sidequesters Potluck + Presentation Night on July 17. the first edition was the bomb, we’re confident this next edition is going to be even more heavenly. as part of the partnership, members of our Treasure Hunters community will get the opportunity to attend the event at no cost. and true to the spirit of SPOILS, the tickets won’t simply be given away, they’ll be discovered through a digital treasure hunt. this partnership represents something much bigger, i want SPOILS to become the place where curiosity is rewarded and where exciting opportunities are something people can actually hunt for, not just scroll past. looking forward to seeing the hunt happen in real time, join our treasure hunters community here to join the action and compete: bit.ly/SpoilsBeta

this is funny because Swoop just reinforced what we’re building at SPOILS (@joinspoils). at SPOILS, you compete against other people in virtual treasure hunts to win prizes. the prize can be anything, the internet simply becomes the hunting ground. Swoop has done something very similar, they’ve hidden free food vouchers throughout their app, and users have to compete to find them before everyone else does. in their case, the app itself becomes the hunting ground. i love seeing products explore this kind of interactive discovery. it turns finding something into a game instead of a transaction, and that changes how people engage entirely. really cool execution ❤️

since we started building SPOILS (@joinspoils) in March 2026, we’ve organized over 7 virtual treasure hunts for our users and the treasure hunters in our closed WhatsApp community. between then and now, our hunters & users have won over ₦200,000+ in cash prizes. for a company that is still in its very early stages, i’m incredibly proud of that. now we’re at a point where we want to take things up a notch, we want to increase the number of treasure hunters in our closed community. it’s not because we want a bigger WhatsApp group or more users but because we have realized having more hunters allows us to build a much better experience for everyone involved. it allows us to give out bigger and more valuable prizes that are actually worthy of the thrill of the hunt. it allows us to organize more competitive treasure hunts, get more feedback from different kinds of people, iterate faster, and ultimately build a much better product. so we’re opening up the closed whatsapp community to a limited number of new treasure hunters. and yes, we don’t need you to text or chat, just view and pass. here’s the kind of people we’re looking for: if you’re smart, i know this sounds vague but let’s just say street smart and “sharp”, you get it? you’re knowledgeable and know a little about the most basic stuff. you’re intelligent, observant, you have a good sense of humor and you’re always in tune with what’s happening in Nigerian popular culture before everyone else. more importantly, you would participate in the treasure hunts. we would definitely give you a good enough time to prepare for treasure hunts so it doesn’t come as a surprise and enough reminders not to spam you. and finally finally deep down, you genuinely believe you’re better than everybody else. 🌚 if you have one or some of these qualities, then i believe you’d enjoy what we’ve built. right now, we have over 30 treasure hunters in our closed community. from the weekends in July, we’ll be organizing virtual treasure hunts where our hunters will compete to solve clues and win prizes (it can be cash, a gadget, a ticket etc) if that sounds like something you’d like to experience, we’d love to have you. join our closed community using the link below. we’ll only be accepting new members for the next few days. when we hit our target, we’ll close the community again. join the SPOILS closed community here bit.ly/SpoilsBeta

this past Friday, i had the opportunity to share and pitch what we’ve been building over the last four months of @joinspoils with the incredible people in the The Velocity community. SPOILS (@joinspoils) is a competitive treasure-hunt webapp where people called hunters compete in virtual and physical treasure hunts to win a specific prize(s). one of the most valuable parts of the experience wasn’t just presenting the idea, it was being challenged with thoughtful questions, receiving honest feedback and having conversations that immediately unlocked opportunities to move certain aspects of the business forward. there is something incredibly valuable about putting your work in front of smart people who are willing to question your assumptions and help you see around corners. i’m grateful to @eyieko1for creating the Velocity Community
