Love the movie we made and Jon Gunn’s work directing it!
After REACHER became a massive hit, Alan Ritchson says he received 40 action movie offers in a weekend. Instead of jumping straight into another action role, he chose ORDINARY ANGELS, drawn to a story about a father’s desperation to save his child.

The budget used to decide where a story got made. Jon Erwin made Moses on a stage in Manhattan Beach, with real actors and AI carrying them into any world the story needed.

I'm calling it. AGI is already here – it's just not evenly distributed yet.

Saw Young Washington. Wasn’t sure if it’s being overhyped out of patriotism, so I kept expectations modest. Welp, turns out it’s actually a great movie. Loved it. Underhyped. A favorite of the year so far. Excited for the just announced sequel, titled 1776.

Fun way to watch!
New York State is home to more drive-ins than any other state in the country - most are in the Great Upstate. These are family-owned small businesses, often in the same family for generations, who take great pride in these community entertainment spaces. It is a perfect family summer evening activity! Last night, we went to Malta Drive-In to see #YoungWashington @washingtonmovie and WOW! We need MORE movies like this that tell the incredible story of American grit, ideals, and Providence and the story of who we are. Bravo to the cast, producers and the @AngelStudiosInc team including @MattDickerson for this inspiring movie telling the story of young George Washington’s early life as we celebrate America 250. We can’t wait for the next one! 🇺🇸

Angel Studios' historical drama "Young Washington" far exceeded pre-release expectations over the July Fourth weekend, prompting director Jon Erwin to announce a sequel before the film's opening weekend had even finished: tinyurl.com/5hy7cr85

The patriotic movie of the year already has a sequel in the works. Young Washington director Jon Erwin said on his company’s social media account over the weekend that his team had begun work on a sequel, titled 1776, that will continue the story of America’s first president and offer moviegoers “another incredible chapter in this man’s life and legacy.” It will be, he pledged, “another Revolutionary War epic.” Young Washington shocked box office observers over the Fourth of July weekend, far outperforming projections with an estimated $20.8 million debut and more than doubling the $9.6 million earned by DC’s Supergirl, despite expectations that the two films would battle for third place. Instead, Young Washington easily finished third overall, trailing only Minions & Monsters ($36.4 million) and Toy Story 5 ($31 million). Most box office forecasters projected Young Washington to open with a gross in the low to mid teens.

Good math!:)
Angel Studios opened Young Washington to $20.8 million on July 4th weekend — the studio's second-biggest live-action opening ever, ahead of Sound of Freedom. Budget: $20 million. Recouped in one weekend. The top-grossing theater was the Megaplex 18 in Thanksgiving Point, Utah. 67% of the weekend take came from the Mountain, Midwest, South, and Southcentral regions. Critics: 58% on RT. Audiences: A CinemaScore. Director Jon Erwin has already announced the sequel: 1776. Same weekend: Supergirl spent $170 million and opened to $37 million. Young Washington spent $20 million and opened to $20 million. One studio knows its audience. The other spent three months insulting theirs. Why was this so successful?
