Huge fan of @Apple design. But I refuse to believe that no one in Cupertino dropped their AirPods case during the design process and had each earbud shoot 10 feet in opposite directions.

Kraft and Monti-Nussbaum studied outside interruptions in Providence Public Schools: intercom announcements, phone calls, staff visits, and students arriving late. They combined district-wide surveys with timed observations of 63 high school class periods.
They found that a typical classroom is interrupted more than 2,000 times a year. About half of those interruptions trigger further off-task behavior, and together they cost roughly 10 to 20 days of instruction annually. Tardy students were the most common cause, and phone calls were the most costly per instance.
Principals consistently underestimated both how often interruptions happen and how much they hurt learning. Because most interruptions come from school staff and vary widely between schools, the authors argue they are highly preventable. Their remedies include cutting unscheduled announcements, moving routine messages to email, and addressing tardiness.

Open enrollment gives families more choice and creates a path toward better public schools that attract students, respond more to parents and focus on helping every student succeed. This is a win for public schools and families. realcleareducation.com/artic…

I feel like the “it’s really hard to scale talent” problem is basically ignored at almost every level of #edu policy. Most organizations are pyramids and can excel with a smaller percentage of talent, edu is a flat org, and there is no shortcut.
I've been a big fan of open enrollment (OE) for a while now. Before I share my reasons, check out @ReasonFdn's latest report. Jude has been doing the best work on this topic for years now. /1
Just 13 states’ open enrollment laws got grades of B or better in @ReasonFdn’s new report, Public Schools without Boundaries: 2026. This report ranks and grades the open enrollment laws in all 50 states. 33 states got F grades. reason.org/open-enrollment/p…
I urged them to consider OE if they were so opposed to vouchers. They absolutely shredded me. The Exec Dir of the state supts assoc'n never talked to me again. Within a few years, the state had a range of private school choice avenues /6

You caught me. The CIA planted me at a local news station in Denver 20 years ago and made me do years worth of stories on snowstorms and rodeos so that I could drop this one report in 2026 quoting Tina Peters' attorney talking about civil war.

Likely the main reason knobs like Clark have their authority is because they’re a C 👁️ A asset. Media across the country are filled w them, & 9 Snooze has been a major propaganda outlet for decades.
