Margaret Thatcher explained this perfectly back in 1983 The government doesn't have money of its own. Every time politicians promise to spend more, someone has to pay for it And people somehow still think it's someone else's money “There is no such thing as public money. There is only taxpayers’ money” And sooner or later, that someone else they expect to pay is YOU

Congrats to our strong men and women of oil & gas in Aberdeen - finally we can drill baby drill. Can all the greenies fuck off to Chyna & protest there?

I cut this video from a late-1960s performance by the Ides of March straight to their 2015 performance of "Vehicle." When a band can still perform and sound this good nearly 50 years later… darn. Just wow. This is what real music sounds like. Any band that brings the horns gets my attention. The Ides of March grabbed it with this one. That brassy sound, the driving rhythm, the whole band coming together. I love that.

Just found out rainwater has PFAS. Guess I’ll stop going outside, growing vegetables, and filtering the air I breathe. Or keep living like a normal person in 2026 and accept that everything is lightly poisoned and my government has our best interests at heart to clean up the mess they created.
Rainwater across the entire planet is no longer safe, scientists say. Contamination from toxic 'forever chemicals‘ is ubiquitous. Rnvironmental research led by scientists at Stockholm University reveals that rainwater across every region of Earth now contains toxic per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at levels exceeding safety limits set by major health agencies. Known as 'forever chemicals' due to their extreme resistance to natural degradation, these synthetic compounds have circulated through the global water cycle, contaminating even the most pristine and isolated regions, including Antarctica and the Tibetan Plateau. The widespread dispersal means natural precipitation everywhere on the planet is no longer safe to consume without specialized purification. PFAS chemicals have been widely manufactured for decades in products like nonstick cookware, waterproof gear, and firefighting foams, leaching into waterways and cycling into the atmosphere via ocean spray. Exposure to these persistent pollutants is linked to severe long-term health risks, including various forms of cancer, compromised immune systems, decreased fertility, and developmental delays in children. As global regulatory bodies scramble to tighten drinking water standards, environmental health experts warn that humanity has crossed a critical boundary, leaving atmospheric contamination virtually impossible to reverse with current technologies. source: Cousins, I. T., Johansson, J. H., Salter, M. E., Sha, B., & Scheringer, M. (2022). Outside the safe operating space of a new planetary boundary for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Don’t rake your leaves. It’s a modern day PSYOP to get you to waste your time and resources just to make your environment worse. Let me explain…

The 2002 receipt says “Always Low Prices. Always.” The 2026 one switched to “Save money. Live better.” hoping no one does the math. Eggs went from “breakfast” to “should we just buy a chicken and name it?” 😂

Stop the spray where you live and play.
HUGE WIN FOR LAKE TAHOE! 🌲💧👏 Today, the South Lake Tahoe City Council voted **UNANIMOUSLY** to take action toward ending the use of conventional pesticides, including glyphosate, in their community AND support efforts to push TRPA to prohibit conventional herbicides throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin! The five councilmembers (pictured in the center) deserve tremendous credit for their passion, courage, and leadership on this overwhelmingly nonpartisan issue. One of the most refreshing government meetings I've attended in years! South Lake Tahoe is stepping up to pioneer policies that prioritize the nontoxic solutions its community wants and deserves! And they're not stopping at words. The Council directed further work on the resolution and letters, including anti-kickback protections, comprehensive pesticide definitions that include glyphosate and other conventional pesticides, possible water monitoring, legal options, and Protect Tahoe's recommended strategy to amend the Area Plan. **NOVEMBER 3: FINAL VOTE!** The Council will bring the revised measures back for consideration. We need EVERYONE who cares about Lake Tahoe to show up and support this historic opportunity! So proud. So grateful. What an AMAZING day! 💙 This is what local leadership on this issue looks like. Thank you Cody Bass, Scott Robbins, Keith Roberts, Heather Horgan, and David Jinkens. **OCTOBER 28: TRPA Board meeting. Give public comment in person or online requesting they change their code of Ordinances on conventional herbicides from "discouraged" to explicitly prohibited. Also, please ask for Protect Tahoe be agendized to give a presentation and Q&A to the full governing board. Let's make Lake Tahoe a model for nontoxic land management! @protectTAHOE

AOC and Gov. Hochul are campaigning on New York's data center moratorium. In Michigan, the candidates are sparring over who's invested in data centers. This is a top-of-ticket issue now. The industry earns trust back by measuring and cleaning what it burns. gesi.us

Oracle is trucking natural gas to keep AI data centers running while pipelines catch up (Bloomberg). One Salt Lake City site has run that way for over a year. That's more combustion right at the fence line. Measure it. Then clean it. gesi.us

Margaret Hamilton led the team that wrote the Apollo onboard software and helped create the field of software engineering. She has died at 90. Everyone building reliable systems today, data centers included, stands on her work. Thank you, Margaret. xitter.cf/CNN/status/21079895494…
