On 8 November 2025, Lake District Hunt Saboteurs captured horrific drone footage of the Coniston Foxhounds on the Lake District fells.
A fox had been hunted to ground. A terrier was sent underground, and attacked the fox. Hunters were filmed digging down to where the terrier had latched onto the fox, before dragging her from her refuge and carrying her towards a waiting pack of hounds.
She was thrown to the hounds and torn apart.
In the days that followed, Cumbria Police identified the Teme Valley Hunt as also involved in a joint meet. By the end of November, 16 arrests had been made.
The investigation remains ongoing one year on.
Earlier this year the government launched a consultation as part of its manifesto promise to strenghen the ban on this disgusting, depraved pastime. We are still waiting for action.
How much longer will our wildlife have to put up with this unspeakable cruelty.
Where is the legislation we were promised? It is time to 𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗡 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘!
