The most seductive thing these Italian actors do is stand still.
Under Ludovica Rambelli’s direction, they recreate Caravaggio’s paintings with their bodies, draped cloth, everyday objects and a single cut of light.
They build each scene before the audience, hold it, then dismantle it to become another.
Think about the physical discipline that demands. Supporting another person’s weight. Holding an awkward angle. Keeping a face suspended in grief while your muscles strain.
That tension gives the paintings a disturbing intimacy.
I was watching and I’ll never forget this🙏
Watching the 9/11 attacks unfold live on television that morning is still one of the most chilling things anyone could ever witness.
If you sat there and watched every minute, like so many of us did in 2001, there was no way to watch it all unfold without crying. The shock, the fear, the confusion… it’s something you never forget.
And all these years later, it still breaks my heart thinking about every single life we lost that day. It’s hard to even put into words the overwhelming feeling of so many different emotions all at once. 💔
Incredible ❤️

I am loving the discovery of some of these lesser-known projects she has done!
