The fear porn around AI right now I would categorize (oversimplified) into Democrats who see labor and vote constituency shrinking and Republicans fixated on dystopian Terminator scenarios. The latter has some reasonable concerns. We already have bills passed and systems designed that do not permit remote control of sensitive nuclear environments and require hardwired human in the loop activities. So on to left wing fear porn.
What do they actually fear? They fear that people are noticing. One of the biggest crimes in 1984 was noticing. Real life is stranger than fiction. People are noticing. It is becoming obvious that AI will do a lot of good (more below), so they cook up doomerism when the benefits cannot be explained away. Super intelligence and automation cut the need for a couple things. Mainly it's:
H1Bs in basic accounting, recruiting, technology, product management, and other desk jobs. That shrinks the pipeline of imported white collar labor that was never scarce in the first place. It also puts a lot of displaced American men back in contention for those seats. That is frightening if your coalition likes a workforce that scores higher in agreeableness and does not push back on HR theology. Yes ma'am, men are evil, sounds good, please don't revoke my visa. A lot of white men will not play that game at the same rate. We are too disagreeable. So the fear is not only jobs. It is losing a compliant staffing model in big tech and corporate America, then having to hire from a pool that votes and talks differently. Kneecapping AI is a convenient excuse to keep extending visas the work no longer requires.
AI and automation also cut the need for illegal labor in Uber, Uber Eats, and the rest of the convenience stack. When cars drive themselves and robots can fetch the bag, a lot of those jobs stop being necessary. Maybe @elonmusk puts Optimus in Cybercabs. Maybe he just sells the fleet layer and lets other people build the DoorDash type services on top. Either way, you do not need a permanent imported underclass to deliver an Oreo Blizzard while you are on episode nine of a Netflix binge and refuse to stand up. The bots will not ghost you over a poor tip while it waits for you.
That is frightening to @BernieSanders and his far left communists because the scarcity story they sell starts to look optional. You can run a high output country with technology and the people already born here. Their preferred problems get smaller and their narratives harder to sell. Then the question is why you still need their program.
We have heard this script before. If we get rid of slaves, who farms. If we allow tractors, what happens to field jobs. If we get rid of gas station attendants, who pumps the gas. If we get rid of typewriters, who types for the C suite. Never align with people whose business model is keeping the problem alive. They care about power, not advancement. Problem solving ends the Karpman drama triangle. Problem perpetuation keeps them in it.
That is most of the latest regulatory capture AI fear mongering.
Charlie was always full of class and grace.
Chappelle as it turns out, is a classless piece of shit.

Will Netflix continue carrying Chapelle’s shows? Will Ticketmaster continue selling his tickets? Will stadiums continue hosting him after these sick remarks cheering the murder of Charlie Kirk?

They’re just going to keep talking like this until anyone who disagrees with them are killed. They’ve been rewarded for murderous rhetoric and celebrating the death of their fellow Americans at the ballot box. So they’re thinking, why stop now?
As a GWOT veteran, what concerns me the most is that they’re beginning to talk like Islamic terrorists. It’s not hyperbole, I mean that.
Using declarative and descriptive statements that paint their enemies as ripe for the slaughter. They were dehumanizers. It’s what allowed them to kill one another so effortlessly. To butcher one another.
This is not the language of a political party that wants to make anyone’s life better through policy. It only aims to exterminate its enemies.
I strongly condemn this language.

Dave Chapelle is out there making “edgy” “jokes” about Charlie Kirk’s death but of course when George Floyd died of an overdose this unfunny gutless hack was practically in tears, calling it “tragic” and “a lot to unpack.”
Trumps first order of business on the first day of the next session should be a blanket pardon of anyone involved with either of his campaigns or presidencies.
Second order of business should be stepping down immediately after blanket pardons and then he should receive one from Vance.
@JDVance can then make the next two years be about anything but Trump, and 2028 can be about a post Trump future. If Trump finishes his term the Democrats will hold all three chambers in 2028 because the nation will want to get Trump fully out of its system which I think will take one congressional term removed from Trump, 26-28 or 28-30, take your pick. I count 2024 as part of the nation getting Trump out of its system, electing him a second time was finishing business. If he steps down early January it will be disastrous for the Democrats to make their body of work "exposing Trump" for two years because it will be a waste of time given the pardons and the 28 campaign will be about them not listening to their mandate which is why republicans lost on 26.
Because Ahab needs his whale, I can see Trump sticking around, and on the offhand he Ford's what I suggest, I can see the dems making 26-28 about going after a fully pardoned and immune Trump and Trump admin.
The only thing I'm sure of is both groups won't do what's right.

BOYCOTT EMBER! @Ember_Tech sponsored these rotten women on the VERY episode they mocked Charlie Kirk. Do you support the mocking of a dead victim of assassination?
This is how it's done. These aren't trivial cancellations on matters of opinion.

We do not condone violence of any kind, and we are no longer sponsors of this podcast.

Here is a ~30 month review:
The wife and I have talked extensively, and we can't ever imagine going back. We love our families, but we don't even want to go back to visit any more. If you think you see a lot of things living there, you all should see it from afar. Minnesota is in massive decline.
so, the writing is on the wall. My family and I are leaving Minnesota for Idaho this summer. For those that are wanting to tell me "dont let the door hit you on the way out", save your breath, I won't miss you, either. For those with good wishes, thank you. I had the idea yesterday to start posting about notable and shocking differences that intrigue me as we begin preparing our home and ourselves to leave this blue, increasingly marxist state for a red, conservative state. This is post #1, I hope someone finds the series interesting and helpful.

A guide to interpreting the "week to week" status on Kyler Murray (hamstring).
1. If Carson Wentz plays well Monday night, Kyler's hamstring will still be in bad shape
2. If Carson Wentz performs poorly Monday night, Kyler's hamstring will be trending in the right direction

77% of Americans households are in debt. This fact of political physics should be stapled to the front of every GOP policy for the next 2 years so ideas like adding $600 billion to the Pentagon budget or foreign policy decisions that inflame prices get a proper stress-test.

This is the most absurd stat I’ve ever researched:
This is the Minnesota Vikings 18th quarterback switch since 2023 when Kirk Cousins went down with his Achilles injury.
That is a new quarterback every 3.5 games since Week 8 of 2023…
The switch consists of
Cousins➡️Hall➡️Dobbs➡️Mullens➡️
Hall➡️Mullens➡️Darnold➡️McCarthy➡️
Wentz➡️McCarthy➡️Brosmer➡️McCarthy➡️
Brosmer➡️McCarthy➡️Murray➡️Wentz➡️
Murray➡️Wentz

So Russell Brand now faces spending the rest of his life in prison.
- no DNA
- no forensic evidence
- no video
- NOTHING
Just a few women who came out and was like, ‘Oh shit. Remember that time 20 years ago when Russell Brand raped me!? I’d better go report this.’
The same Russell Brand that:
- Challenged the pharmaceutical industry
- Attacked mainstream media
- Questioned government authority
- Moved toward conservative politics
- Became publicly Christian
I don’t believe this man raped anyone for a second.
This is a SHAM. This is LAWFARE.

She admitted that w/in moments of meeting RB backstage, she used her tongue on his anus (as another woman was fellating him). She hadn’t even been introduced. Later she went to his place excited for sex (which they had). The two discussed anal sex b/4 hvg it - she said it was her 1st time. Her friend testified that the accuser admitted to her that she agreed to it (told RB “be gentle”). RB testified they watched tv together after.
When a reporter first contacted accuser about RB she said “I’m not sure my story has much in it; I was an idiot, young & stupid, probably as much to blame.”

South Carolina flipped to the Democrats because Trump endorsed a Republican candidate who had no qualifications, no experience, no political skills, no resume at all, and whose only pitch to the voters was "I'm the sister of Lindsay Graham." Just a staggeringly idiotic strategy that failed exactly as any reasonable person knew that it would.
