Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina @DinoKonakovic held a telephone conversation with the United Kingdom’s new Minister of State for Europe, Eastern Europe, International Security & Growth, Lord Wood.
During the conversation, the two officials exchanged views on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the country's path towards the European Union, the role of the Office of the High Representative (OHR), the continuation of the reform process, and the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation between 🇧🇦 and 🇬🇧.
Minister Wood expressed the United Kingdom's strong support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing the UK's unwavering support for the role of the OHR and reaffirming that the United Kingdom remains a reliable partner to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European and Euro-Atlantic path.
Minister Konaković expressed his appreciation for the United Kingdom's continued support for Bosnia and Herzegovina, underscoring the importance of close cooperation with international partners in preserving peace and stability and advancing reforms on the country's path towards 🇪🇺 membership.

Danas izazov nije samo priznanje, nego i da preživjeli ostvare svoja prava u praksi.
Zajedno sa UN i partnerima širom BiH, UK radi na jačanju implementacije Zakona o civilnim žrtvama rata FBiH. Hrabrost preživjelih i ustrajnost civilnog društva usmjerava pravdu na preživjele.

🇧🇦 Foreign Minister @dinokonakovic met with 🇬🇧Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories, @SDoughtyMP, to discuss the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, EU integration and regional security.
Minister Konaković thanked the United Kingdom for its steadfast support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order. He stressed the importance of preserving the full mandate of the Office of the High Representative until the 5+2 conditions are fulfilled and warned that continued secessionist policies and institutional blockades remain the greatest obstacle to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path.
Minister Doughty reaffirmed the UK’s unwavering support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as its continued backing of the Office of the High Representative and the country’s reform and European integration agenda.

Sadiq Khan @MayorofLondon, accompanied by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. @JulianReillyUK, visited the Srebrenica Memorial Center today, where he was welcomed by the Center’s Director,@suljagicemir1 who guided him through the memorial complex and presented the key facts about the Srebrenica genocide, the mission of the Memorial Center, and its ongoing efforts to combat genocide denial and historical revisionism.
During the visit, Mayor Khan toured the permanent museum exhibitions and learned about the Memorial Center’s work in documenting, researching, and educating about the genocide. A significant part of the visit was dedicated to activities implemented by the Memorial Center with the support of the Government of the United Kingdom and in cooperation with the British Embassy Sarajevo. As part of the programme, he met with young volunteers participating in the Srebrenica Outreach initiative, through which the Memorial Center, with the support of the UK Government, empowers young people to actively contribute to preserving the culture of remembrance and promoting knowledge about the Srebrenica genocide.
Following the tour, Mayor Khan met with the representatives of the Mothers of Srebrenica associations, listening to their testimonies and speaking with them about the importance of preserving the truth and the memory of their loved ones.
The visit concluded with the laying of a wreath and the paying of respects to the victims of the genocide at the cemetery. Together with the Director of the Memorial Center, Mayor Khan visited the wall of names of the victims, after which he attended the Friday prayer in Potočari.
Mayor Khan’s visit to the Srebrenica Memorial Center reaffirms that preserving the truth about the Srebrenica genocide is a shared international responsibility. At a time when established facts are increasingly challenged, partnerships built on education, remembrance, and support for survivors remain among the strongest responses to genocide denial and historical revisionism.

Today in Sarajevo, the Ambassadors of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC SB) formally appointed current Principal Deputy High Representative Louis J. Crishock as the Acting High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina until the finalisation of the appointment of the new High Representative. The PIC SB committed to reaching agreement on the selection of a new High Representative as soon as possible, with the goal of completing the appointment no later than 14 July 2026.
The PIC SB looks forward to working with Mr. Crishock when he takes up his duties as the Acting High Representative on 1st July 2026 upon which Mr. Schmidt’s resignation will become effective.
The PIC SB emphasizes that the Acting High Representative shall fully ensure the institutional continuity of the function, legal certainty regarding all decisions enacted by previous High Representatives and shall operate under the political guidance of the PIC.
Should any attempts be made by any actor to undermine, circumvent, or challenge past decisions, the Acting High Representative will take all necessary measures within his mandate in line with Annex X to the GFAP by ensuring consistent implementation of the civilian aspects of the GFAP, backed by the explicit political authority and guidance of the PIC SB, to uphold the integrity of the General Framework Agreement for Peace.
The PIC SB expressed its high appreciation to Mr Christian Schmidt for his commitment and contribution to implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and security and stability in BiH for almost five years.

Ambasadori Upravnog odbora Vijeća za provedbu mira (PIC SB) su danas u Sarajevu formalno imenovali sadašnjeg prvog zamjenika visokog predstavnika Louisa J. Crishocka za vršioca dužnosti visokog predstavnika za Bosnu i Hercegovinu do konačnog imenovanja novog visokog predstavnika. Upravni odbor PIC-a se obavezao da će postići dogovor o izboru novog visokog predstavnika što je prije moguće, sa ciljem da se imenovanje završi najkasnije do 14. jula 2026. godine.
Upravni odbor PIC-a očekuje uspješnu saradnju sa g. Crishockom nakon što preuzme dužnost vršioca dužnosti visokog predstavnika 1. jula 2026. godine, kada će ostavka g. Schmidta stupiti na snagu.
Upravni odbor PIC-a naglašava da će vršilac dužnosti visokog predstavnika u potpunosti osigurati institucionalni kontinuitet funkcije, pravnu sigurnost u vezi sa svim odlukama koje su donijeli prethodni visoki predstavnici, te da će djelovati pod političkim vodstvom PIC-a.
Ukoliko bilo koji akter pokuša ugroziti, zaobići ili osporiti ranije odluke, vršilac dužnosti visokog predstavnika će preduzeti sve potrebne mjere u okviru svog mandata u skladu s Aneksom X Općeg okvirnog sporazuma za mir, osiguravajući dosljednu provedbu civilnih aspekata Općeg okvirnog sporazuma za mir, uz podršku putem izričitih ovlasti i smjernica Upravnog odbora PIC-a, u cilju zaštite integriteta Općeg okvirnog sporazuma za mir.
Upravni odbor PIC-a izrazio je veliku zahvalnost gospodinu Christianu Schmidtu za njegovu predanost i doprinos provedbi Daytonskog mirovnog sporazuma, sigurnosti i stabilnosti u Bosni i Hercegovini tokom perioda od skoro pet godina.
