God Made All of Me by @JustinHolcomb and @lindseyholcomb is an invaluable resource and to help families talk about body safety.
Through carefully written language and relatable storytelling, God Made All of Me helps parents navigate conversations about body differences between boys and girls and safe and unsafe touch that can so easily warp into confusion, embarrassment, and secrecy.

Spurgeon: "It is not the strength of your faith; it is the object of your faith." Weak faith in a strong Savior saves. Strong faith in a weak one does not. The question is not how well you are holding on.
Paul uses four words for who we were apart from Christ: helpless, ungodly, sinners, enemies. Then four more for who we are now in Christ: loved, justified, saved, reconciled. Nothing between the two lists is our own doing.
So your sense of being loved by God will rise and fall. His love for you does not. God is not looking for a reason to leave. His stance toward you is settled.

In this piece I draw about Michael Horton’s Shaman and Sage book and look at some historical background to The Odyssey. I hope the piece helps us to view Nolan and Homer’s work through some overlooked categories.
"In spite of some of the film’s modern anachronisms, because Nolan pays such respect to the external laws and civics of The Odyssey, I believe his adaptation is much more conservative and supportive of Homer than critics are giving him credit for."

I can’t wait to read this. Mike has worked hard and long on this trilogy. During the many TheoGlobal trips for the past 10 years to India, Egypt, Thailand, Kenya, and Turkey, I had the privilege of talking with him about his research and writing. I’m so happy for him to see this final volume available. Congratulations, Mike! It’s brilliant and important work.
Theosophist and Transhumanist: The Roots of "Spiritual but Not Religious" from Spinoza to AI
Volume 3 of my trilogy on the "Spiritual but Not Religious" phenomenon with @eerdmansbooks is now available for pre-order. This volume brings the story of the "divine self" into the present day.
"Science vs. Religion" is a myth that never happened. Many of history's greatest scientists were spiritualists. Transhumanism is a rapidly growing Gnostic movement.
Where a personal God who creates, judges, and saves is excluded, all sorts of other gods rush in.
Available April 8, 2027.

Abuse is stigmatized, so many survivors suffer in silence, and the silence deepens both the distress and the disgrace.
There is a societal impulse to blame people for their own suffering. When survivors are blamed for post-traumatic symptoms, the blame does not merely fail them. It feeds the cycle of traumatization. Survivors who receive negative reactions have poorer adjustment.
Of all the ways people respond, two are linked to better adjustment. Being believed. Being listened to.

Fixing your eyes on Jesus > spending hours researching the Nephilim.
There’s nothing wrong with studying difficult passages. But if our fascination with biblical mysteries outgrows our fascination with Christ, we’ve missed the point.
Fix your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2).
If you spend hours researching the Nephilim and ignore the gospel, you’re only hurting yourself.

Saul had never touched Jesus. He had gone after Christians.
But Jesus asked, “Why are you persecuting me?”
Jesus so identifies with his people that to strike them is to strike him.

Paul wrote about the peace that passes understanding from a prison cell. The word he uses is a military one. This peace garrisons your heart and mind like soldiers at a gate.
You do not keep it. It keeps you.

What is a Church?
In a dechurched future, fewer and fewer people will know know what to look for in a church. How would you help them?
