The first KL Metroscape video is out! It explores why KL’s traffic hasn’t improved despite the MRT and what it takes to get people on public transit.
Using 2 stations as examples, it shows how small infrastructure upgrades can drive big ridership gains.

The siloed decision-making process of local councils to block roads without consideration to bus operations will also be why we will never be serious about public transport

DBKL is a coward for not doing similar pedestrianisation on Bukit Bintang that people have been asking for. Only some parts of Bukit Bintang also they cannot. "Still studying." Sure, Jan.
London’s iconic Oxford Street will be pedestrianised between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street from today onwards.

Almost 1 km of Oxford Street is now pedestrianised. Trees, seats and plazas are planned for spring 2027.
More room for public life, lingering and chilling. Not just shopping. The real test: an inclusive street that works for visitors and neighbours alike.

The ECRL Gombak situation is proof that despite years of grunting and activism by public and NGOs, despite years of touting green cities, we still put the needs of pedestrians on backburner. How did we get here

Since 2016, London’s cycling network has grown fivefold, from 90 to 450 km.
The result? 1.5 million daily cycle journeys—a 43% spike since 2019—twice as many bikes as cars on City of London streets during the day, and motor traffic in steady decline—having fallen 25% since 2019.

Over 6,000 road fatalities every single year - you're genuinely more likely to know someone who died in a crash than from half the things we worry about daily.
Attended my son’s convocation today. Everything’s great. Tapi ada satu insiden yang lekat dalam memori.
Sebelum tunggu sesi pagi berakhir, aku lepak kat satu meja with this couple, I think around my age. They’re waiting for their son. Lepas dah icebreaker dalam 5 minit, tetiba the man asked me.
“Awak hisap rokok?”
I was prepared for an anti-smoking lecture. Or maybe about the campus being a no-smoking campus. Or how the price has increased over the years.
I answered yes. Then he continued.
“Kawan saya ramai hisap rokok. Tapi dia orang tak mati sebab hisap rokok. Dia orang mati kena langgar. Kawan saya pun hisap 2 kotak sehari. Tak pernah sakit. Tiba tiba dia mati kena langgar…”
Aku terkelu dengan betapa random nya kenyataan itu, tak tahu bagaimana nak menjawab, jadi aku hanya berhuhuhu
