“Making public transport affordable is important, but affordability alone will not convince people to leave their cars behind. They also need services that are frequent, reliable and comfortable,” he said.

The announcement of 22km of covered walkways for KL surely sounds like good news. Protection from sun & rain is a fundamental part of good walkways, especially in tropical climates. After all, the 4 pillars of walkability are ✅Comfortable 👋Useful 🙋Safe 🤌Interesting. ⏩

11. But Singapore, despite its car-lite vision, is still highly car centric. Can we in Malaysia build our own good walkways & truly reduce car dominance in urban centres? It's just got to be comfortable, useful, safe & interesting... 🔚

Well done RapidKL 👏🏼👏🏼 If this happens on your watch, just open the fare gates so people can actually exit the station.

Train Delay: Kelana Jaya Line A train is being operated manually between Masjid Jamek and Pasar Seni stations due to a brake issue. Train movement at other stations is expected to be slower, with longer stops at platforms. Thank you.

These platforms are probably underdesigned too and need more exits.

Shocking to find out that this lovely brick-styled and dense housing estate (with many features illegal in Malaysia) built as part of an integrated township development with a planned rail link was developed by… the UK subsidiary of Malaysia’s YTL Corporation!
If we’re going to build suburbs, let’s build them like this! Brabazon on the outskirts of Bristol has a density of 75 homes per hectare, triple the usual. It was originally planned for 2,000 homes but will now see 6,500 built There’s start up offices, parks, trees, a lake…
