If NYC residents can get the life enhancing benefits of 20mph streets they why can't residents in your home village, town or city have the same. Congrats NYC for doing what's right to make their place a better place to be.

Disappointed @JamesOWild doesn't mention the active travel projects. They seem to have been quietly sidelined after a few (but not all) disability-discriminating barriers were removed from cycleways. Lynn has done the hard bit and made a LCWI Plan. Please give it some funding!
£25 million Town Deal for #KingsLynn includes exciting projects such as St. George’s Guildhall; new library, adult skills and community hub; and @cwa_college School of Nursing Studies Extra £20 million will complement those projects & new ones to boost jobs, skills, heritage.

All over the world 20mph and 30km/h limits are being set as the norm in villages, towns and cities. It's not fascist or communist, or even right or left, but is a simple and cost-effective way to make places better places, especially for the most vulnerable road users

Do you have any horror stories about tying to take your bike on the train (particularly in the UK)? Or maybe you've always had a great experience, but either way let us know about it in the comments! #cycling #bikesontrains

"The 60mph default speed... is clearly unsuitable, unsafe and a contributor to road deaths on many minor rural roads." - Duncan Dollimore, head of campaigns, via @Independent. To tackle the risk on rural roads, we must talk about reducing speed limits. independent.co.uk/news/uk/ra…

New calculations show that 20mph limits in an urban environment makes a significant reduction in fuel costs of up to 10p per mile or £247 a year for a 5 mile daily urban commute. All due to the slow/stop/start nature of urban traffic, etc. 20splenty.org/20mph_fuel_sav…

#KingsLynn #TuesdayMarketPlace #cycleParking closing about 2 days earlier than the adjacent car parking, no replacement spaces and no date for reopening. Why? How does this encourage cycling @WestNorfolkBC? Do you not care that cyclists spend 30% more? @vision_lynn @moreKingsLynn

It's nonsense like this in @TeamQEH planning applications (for a big, visible car park! and still no secure cycle parking!) which makes me despair that safe #space4cycling to #NHS sites, unless @activetraveleng can impose conditions on funding.

A ban on pavement parking would improve local streets and help protect vulnerable road users. It’s popular policy across the political spectrum: 78% of Daily Express readers recently said they supported a UK-wide pavement parking ban. express.co.uk/life-style/car…

See how journey times are largely unaffected by the speed limit in an urban environment. Why save a couple of seconds on a stretch of road just to wait an couple of seconds more at the next obstruction. Another reason why #20splenty where people are videos.futuretransport.info/…
