I once ran into her at the air and space museum. We couldn’t figure out if it was really Usha, because she was alone (secret service blended into the room around us) and she was just giving her kids (dressed like astronauts) a snack at the table in the cafeteria.
Vice President JD Vance on his admiration for the Second Lady:
“She’s an amazing mother. She manages to create this sort of cocoon of normalcy around our kids where they’re just able to be kids, and that is not easy in the life that we lead… She doesn’t complain, she doesn’t criticize, she just says this is my job. She does it amazingly well and she does it with a lot of grace and beauty.”
I don’t know her personally, but I followed her cancer story closely. I think she’s as tough as nails, and one bad image of her shouldn’t destroy her career. And few of us have her mental strength.

Unsurprising. Up to this point I’ve run my podcast completely solo with Grok Bot and Riverside, and the more I use Grok Bot, the more problems I find it is able to solve. Incredible tech
Elon Musk on Grok Bot: "We're seeing the fastest growth of a product that I've ever seen in my life. I've never seen anything growth this fast. The usage of Grok Bot per user actually has been growing over time. They are using it more per week, not less. Enterprise Grok Bot will be in wide deployment in a few weeks. I think Grok Bot will use most of SI compute."

There is so much misinformation around owning Teslas, even till this day:
• No, you don’t get range anxiety. With a wall connector at home, you wake up to a “full tank” every day, and Tesla Supercharger stations are everywhere.
• Teslas make the BEST road trip vehicles because of FSD.
• Total ownership costs are much lower than a comparable gas car when you factor in fuel, and maintenance.
• Tesla batteries are engineered for longevity. They’re designed to lose only 20% of capacity after 250K miles.
• A Tesla is ~8x less likely to catch fire than a gasoline vehicle.
• Tesla FSD can drive you from point A to point B anywhere in the US, including cross-country. It handles all our charging stops, parking, etc.
• With FSD, you just press a button on the display, and the car will drive itself to your destination. You literally just relax.
• On road trips, Tesla Superchargers are conveniently placed along your route in locations where you can eat, shop, and rest.
• Average charging stops take 10–30 minutes. You do not charge to 100%, as that isn’t the quickest way.
• The average price per kWh in the US is $0.18. Charging a Model 3 Premium RWD costs only $14.70 for over 360 miles of range. (Can be way less in some states)
• Tesla vehicles are among the best to drive in winter. Heat pumps warm the cabin quickly and efficiently, while instant torque and traction control provide excellent grip.
• The only maintenance typically required is cabin air filters, tires, and windshield fluid.
• New battery replacements for the Model 3 and Model Y start as low as $8,000 to $12,000, not the “$30,000 to $40,000” some “experts” claim. The battery itself costs about the same as (or less than) a typical engine replacement, but with far less labor involved. Full battery replacements are extremely rare.
• The electric motors slow the car by recovering kinetic energy and sending it back into the battery, so the physical brakes hardly ever get used. They can last onwards of 250K miles.
• Teslas get frequent OTA software updates that add new features, improve performance, and fix issues without a service cost.
• Tesla vehicles have the highest safety ratings in the industry, and rank among the lowest fatality rates. Cybertruck is the safest pickup truck, by far.
• Model 3&Y, and Cybertruck can power our home during an outage with the correct equipment.
Best cars ever.

Kaitlin says she immediately started getting texts from WH officials about Zacharia’s performance.
If she’s not lying, finding the “officials” gossiping with Kaitlin should be top WH priority.

@SpeakerJohnson isn’t going anywhere. 💪🇺🇸
If Republicans lose the House majority in November's midterm elections, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said he plans to run for minority leader in the next Congress.
"Heaven forbid, I don't think it's going to happen, so I don't spend any time thinking about it," he told @costareports. "But in the unlikely scenario where we lost the majority, I would expect my colleagues would ask me to continue leading this conference, even if we have divided government."

Mike Ditka RIP:
“I am so grateful for the Roman Catholic faith with which I was raised. My dad didn’t go to church, but my mom was a terrific Catholic – a fervent convert to the faith – and always saw that we went to mass and Catholic school. The Sisters of Saint Joe taught us so much at St. Paddy’s Church and school in Aliquippa, Pa. The nuns, they were really tough – they’d hit you if need be – and they taught us everything we needed. It was really great. I wouldn’t trade that for anything.”
God, show me someone who demonstrates genuine humility:

One of my most ardent takes. A hill I will die on. Blink 182 needs to be the next Super Bow halftime show. It should have already happened. They’re fun. They have music most of the viewers know. Look at this stadium singing along.

TERRY SCHILLING: My grandfather made about $5,900 a year in 1970. At $35 an ounce, that was roughly 170 ounces of gold.
Today, a $60,000 salary buys only about 15 ounces.
The deceit here is that they gave us more dollars while taking away their value.

I bought this @GE_Appliances fridge in March 2020. Six and a half years later, it’s dead. The repair quote is $2,350, which means it's time to buy a new fridge.
Meanwhile, the white fridge in my garage that looks like it's from WWII is still running strong.
For the price of one brand-new GE fridge, I could buy 30 used white fridges on Facebook Marketplace that will all still be alive after I'm gone.
What happened to us as a nation?
