“How do I know if tech is for me?” “Where do I even start?”
These are some of the most common and honest questions people ask when trying to transition into tech.
Tech can be a whole lot and confusing at first. So many paths, so much information, and often, very little guidance that actually speaks to your experience.
Come and learn from inspiring women:
Adiza Hassan (@kubiblaze) – AI Engineer and Research & Innovation Officer at Ghana Water Company Limited
Elsie Kaaya (@KaayaEng) – Artificial Intelligence & Health Informatics Researcher
Nancy Muriithi – Cybersecurity Trainer
as they talk beyond generic advice, share what it really means to explore your interests across tech, how they found their focus, and what helped them stay consistent.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to present my paper “Tiny Models, Big Impact: A Federated Learning Approach to Monitoring Depression Treatment via Smartphones and Wearables” at the ACC-SAP Conference in Potsdam, Germany. Grateful for the experience!

The Ethiopian National Ministry of Education has prohibited all recipients of honorary doctorate degrees from using the title “Doctor” or “Dr” outside the institution that conferred the honour.
The directive, signed by Minister of Education Berhanu Nega in July 2025, also bars serving government officials and political candidates from being nominated for honorary doctorates.
Furthermore, newly established universities are restricted from awarding the distinction. Institutions must have graduated at least eight cohorts and offer third-cycle degrees, such as PhDs, before they can confer honorary doctorates. Those that do not meet these requirements are prohibited from granting the title. Universities must also adhere to both national and international standards prior to awarding the honours.
