“It is shocking that antisemitism has become so normalised that it can take root in the very places where we expect prejudice to be rejected.”

Our Chief Executive @KarenPollock100 on the findings of the Bell Review into antisemitism in schools and colleges.
We all remember where we were as the news broke; how we felt as footage of those indescribable events emerged; the horror as things became clearer.
Murder, sexual violence, kidnapping.
We remember the victims and their families and honour them today and every day.

🕯️ Shani Louk, 22, was murdered by Hamas at the Nova festival on October 7. Terrorists took her body into Gaza and paraded her throughout the streets. The IDF recovered her body on May 17, 2024.
🕯️ Shiri Bibas, 32, was abducted by Hamas with her 4-year-old, Ariel, and 9-month-old, Kfir. Her husband, Yarden, 34, was abducted separately as well. Shiri and her two children were murdered in captivity. In February 2025, they were finally returned to Israel, awaited by Yarden, who was released earlier that month alive.
🕯️ Shlomo Mantzur, 85, was the oldest hostage taken by Hamas. He was murdered by Hamas on October 7, and his body was taken to Gaza. Shlomo fled the Farhud, a massacre of Bagdhad's Jews, in 1941.
🕯️ Lianne, 48, Noiya, 16, and Yahel Sharabi, 13, were murdered by Hamas in their home in Kibbutz Be'eri on October 7. Yahel had just been Bat Mitzvah'd in July. After the attacks, a soldier found their bodies cuddled together. Eli Sharabi, Lianne's husband and the girls' father, was taken hostage and returned after 491 days.
Three years since October 7th. We haven't forgotten a single one of them. Remember October 7th the way it happened, not the way people are retelling it.
May the memories of all of the victims of Hamas's October 7th attack be a blessing 💔

At 9:20am on October 7 2023, 16 Nova festivalgoers, fleeing the biggest terror attack in Israel’s history, scrambled into a large fluorescent-yellow dumpster and buried themselves deep beneath the piles of rubbish.
They hid from Hamas for three hours. These texts reveal every minute of their battle for survival ⤵️

6:29 this morning on the Ayalon in Tel Aviv. Drivers stopped, many stood beside their cars, and horns blared for a full minute. The same happened in other places around the country.
The day was marked in two ways. The state held its memorial day on Monday, the date set by law, with ceremonies at Mount Herzl. Today's events are led by the October Council, a group of bereaved families, which called a minute of silence at 6:29 and organized ceremonies across the country, including at the Nova site tonight.

Today marks three years since October 7th 2023. Three years since Hamas unleashed a wave of barbaric violence, murdering over 1,200 innocent men, women and children, and abducting 251. Join us in remembrance this evening at 5pm opposite Downing Street.

Today marks three years since October 7th 2023 - the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
On that day, Hamas terrorists unleashed a wave of barbaric violence, murdering more than 1,200 innocent men, women and children, and taking 251 people hostage.
We remember all those murdered.
May their memory be a blessing.

Three years since our lives changed forever.
Three years since Hamas terrorists brutally murdered and kidnapped our brothers and sisters.
Three years, but we will never forget.
Remember October 7, 2023. 🕯️
This is so grotesque. They deliberately, knowingly, hatefully choose this date to march. For shame

On 4 October 1936, thousands stood together to stop British fascists marching through London’s Jewish East End.
Jewish residents, communists, trade unionists and anti-fascists blocked streets and built barricades. The march was called off. It became known as The Battle of Cable Street.

One year on from the Heaton Park synagogue terrorist attack, we remember Melvin Cravitz z’’l and Adrian Daulby z’’l. We stand united against antisemitism. May their memories be a blessing.
She was a remarkable woman - I loved That’s Life!
I think she gave us one of the most iconic moments on national television.
Incredible.
RIP Esther Rantzen - May her memory be a blessing.

This man is a hero.
Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit.
Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.
Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives.
Indian. Israeli. Emirati.
Different nationalities. One extraordinary act of courage. 🇮🇳🇮🇱🇦🇪
We wish Captain Machchhar a full and speedy recovery.

Replying to @FranceskAlbs
@FranceskAlbs ventures into obvious and dangerous historical revisionism with her attempt to recast the Nazi persecution and murder of Jews as merely part of a broader hatred of the “non-white”, non European or “non-Christian.”
Her portrayal of the history of modern antisemitism — and of the term itself — is deeply flawed. The term “antisemitism” emerged in the mid-19th century as a term for “Jew-hatred” and referred specifically to hostility toward Jews.
Her use of the term “Muselmann” is also historically inaccurate. "Muselmann" was not a term specifically for Jews and it does not prove that Nazi antisemitism connected Jews and Muslims. The term developed among the concentration camp inmates, not the Nazis, to describe prisoners, Jews and non-Jews, who were near death and appeared as walking skeletons.
By misusing this term as evidence of a racial category, Albanese fundamentally distorts its historical meaning.
The Nazis targeted and systematically murdered Jews because they were Jewish, as defined through Nazi ideology. The Special Rapporteur would do well to familiarize herself with the history she seeks to address, particularly the rise of Nazi antisemitism and the ideology that paved the way for the Holocaust, before making assertions about it.
