I prescribe more capitalism minus the oligarchy. Until we refactor our brains after merging with AI.
True. We sell fear and boredom in Canada. No room for flying cars in a regulatory capture environment.
Only if he was truthful. Population concerns are valid, but this is the real estate lobby pulling the strings. Promise was we'd once again become a nation of builders. We're opting for renters instead to inflate the bubble 🤷
Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada could eventually increase immigration again, following two years of cuts aimed at slowing rapid population growth.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Carney said the immigration system is now “under control” and that the next question is when to resume a “controlled increase” in population.
His comments come as Canada’s population growth slows and the federal government prepares to release its 2027–2029 immigration plan by November 1.
Conservative immigration critic Michelle Rempel Garner says immigration targets should be reduced further, arguing that housing, health care and the labour market cannot support an increase at this time.

So to update:
AI => Super Intelligence
AGI => Very Stable Genius Intelligence
ASI => The Best Intelligence, Maybe Ever

I am still convinced there will be more software engineers in 5 years than there are today. And none of them will read or write code.
IQ is a vanity metric. High IQ people can still be dumb.

Delegate coding. Never delegate understanding.
If code was previously your source of truth for managing understanding, then you need a new source of truth artifact. If code-centric workflows were how you developed that understanding, then you need new workflows.
I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude. There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.
Agentic Engineering is a real thing. Despite the slop that models spew, Astra and Fable class included, engineering principles still apply in this new coding paradigm.
Jev becomes a native capability of LLMs by next month.
I don’t think Jev will survive.
@nvidia and @meta will release open-source Jev competitors within the next 30 days.
@OpenAI will add a Jev-like endpoint to their model list in the next 60 days.
And the rest of us will fine-tune custom classifiers that crush Jev and are 10x faster.
In two years we’ll look back at this flash-in-the-pan and say
“remember Jev?”

Many people think that the words “Artificial Intelligence” are inaccurate, and very ineloquent, relative to AI, or Artificial Intelligence. A far more elegant and accurate description of this new phenomena would be Superior Intelligence (SI) or, Extreme Intelligence (EI) or, Supreme Intelligence (SI). This is a Poll, and I would appreciate everybody voting! Which is the best name for this ever growing “Revolution?” President DONALD J. TRUMP
And we're back to the "if scam" with @typesafeai's Jev, decision trees rebranded!
Again, I'm not bitching, these are legit contributions and really cool. I'm baffled by the extravagant marketing rhetoric for the sole purpose of market cap capture , nonetheless.
Go science 💪🥳
I've seen people describe Jev as an "AI if statement". But what if it actually WAS an if statement?
Introducing Probably: a programming language powered by Jev: probably-lang.southpolesteve…
Jev baked into the language. “feels” asks a question. “match” routes between descriptions. “while” keeps going until something stops feeling true.
This is obviously a toy, but it's fun to think about what something like Jev unlocks. Jev makes the decisions, an LLM does the writing, and a little program ties it together.
Replying to @FounderEric
Agreed, step out of the "infrastructure" loop (guilty myself), shift focus on "application"
