I finished Valor Mortis in under 20 hours, and here is my review.
Massive thanks to kind people at @oml_games for the review key.
🥇The game's setting is unique. To explore the battlefield ravaged by Napoleon's army and the various monsters was truly a special experience. There is a tragedy at every corner and you can feel the air suffocating you.
🥇Valor Mortis nails the combat. The parry system is risky yet rewarding. Once you get the knack for it, you will never go back to dodging. The game gives you several visual clues to learn the patterns of the enemies.
🥇The characters and voice acting are on point. From William to the Shrike, everyone plays their part wonderfully. I had no complaints there whatsoever.
🥈The skills in the game can be reset at any time. So, if you don't like the current build then just respec and try something else. I like that the developers don't bind you to a single playstyle throughout the game.
🥈Most of the bosses in Valor Mortis are very fun and just the right level of challenging. Since it's a first-person soulslike game, I had my doubts about the difficulty, but I'm happy to say that One More Level has handled it well. However, a couple of bosses are poorly designed and not that fun to fight against.
🥈The story is nicely fleshed out and it's rather engaging. After finishing a chapter, I was genuinely looking forward to learning more about the world and the characters.
🥈There are three weapons, three sidearms, and three mutations in the game. The diversity is not much, but I didn't get an itch to have more choices. But some people may have a problem with the limitations.
🥉The game has some bugs, but during my run, I only once encountered something that made me angry. Most of them were just visual glitches.
🏆 Overall Rating: 8.25/10
Valor Mortis does almost everything so well that it's hard not to recommend it. My only gripe is that not everyone will be able to adjust to the first-person perspective in a soulslike. There's no need to be worried about the glitches as the developers are constantly working on new patches.
Thank you for reading. Consider dropping me a follow if you enjoyed the review. :)

Day 111
This trend of media outlets trying stand out with their reviews needs to die.
They gave both Phantom Blade 0 and Shadow of Erdtree 3/5.
They need to change the people who review games because clearly they don't enjoy playing them.
Phantom Blade Zero achieves its goal of creating wonderfully fluid and cinematic kung fu-style combat - but balance and quality issues ultimately dim its shine.

I completed the Terrible Lizards demo today and and here are my thoughts:
🔸The atmosphere is quite eerie and you get that constant feeling that something bad is going to happen anytime
🔸The game includes parkour sections, which are genuinely fun. However, they need some polishing
🔸The game has DINOSAURS. Well not exactly, but you will be happy with what they've included
🔸The escape segments are quite thrilling. I was genuinely scared and had to put down my controller after finishing them
Terrible Lizards is launching on October 29, 2026. The game has potential and it can scratch the dinosaur itch.
It offers a good blend of horror and parkour. Also, you don't get any weapons, which adds to the overall horror.

Phantom Blade 0 reviews go live soon.
I'm expecting it to score 90.
What is your prediction for the game?

The cancellation of Mass Effect 5 hurts. But, I'm happy to see that people have already started a petition in hopes of saving it.
We, Prince of Persia fans, did something similar. We have accumulated almost 8k signatures on the petition, but there is still some way to go.
So today I am resharing the petition to save the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. It may seem crazy, but we cannot give up without trying. Every signature counts. Don't think that yours doesn't matter.

I played the Acts of Blood demo and here are my thoughts:
🔸The game has intense action. You really feel every punch and kick that you throw.
🔸The game has some incredible finishers that can be executed when the enemy has low HP.
🔸There are several skill trees, each of which makes the next run easier and quicker
🔸You can kick items towards enemies to stun and damage them
🔸Acts of Blood also lets you use items like hammers to deal extra damage
🔸It is possible to counter enemy attacks as long as the timing is on point.
I didn't encounter any game-breaking bugs during my run. However, the game could do with a bit of polish.
Acts of Blood is an easy recommendation especially if you're looking for an action game. Also, if you're a fan of The Raid or The Furious, this is the game for you.

Out of everything mentioned here, the cancellation of the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake hurt me the most.
The game was rebooted once and then cancelled. We, Prince of Persia fans, have been waiting for more than a decade for a AAA game, and this could have been it.
Sure, The Lost Crown and The Rogue are brilliant games, but most of us know the franchise because of the Sands of Time. Releasing the remake would not only helped bring back old fans, but introduce many new ones to one of the greatest games of all time.
The State of Gaming in 2026:
> BioWare shut down by EA
> Arkane Lyon has until November 13 to find a buyer, risking the cancellation of Marvel's Blade
> Epic Games announcing they're pivoting more towards AI acceleration after laying off 1000+ employees
> Ubisoft cancelled 6 games including Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
> Mass layoffs at XBOX
> The majority of id Software and up to half of ZeniMax Online reportedly lost their job
> Ninja Theory is facing closure after two potential deals fall through
> 35+ Game Studios closed so far
> Sony announced the end of physical disc production starting in 2028
> GTA 6 having a $400 Collector's Edition Box that doesn't include the game itself
> All-time high prices for gaming consoles
> RAM, GPU and Storage prices also keep climbing slowly making PC gaming a luxury

Day 109
Today I finished the Hela: Of Mice and Magic demo, and here are my thoughts:
🔸The game is fun to play. While it is possible to play alone, it's much better to find a partner.
🔸Exploring the world is super fun. You can run, glide, swim, and even swing from trees to reach different places.
🔸There are cool puzzles that you can't solve without actually putting some thought into it.
🔸The ability to form clones opens up plenty of possibilities.
🔸I cannot judge the complete story, but the demo had an interesting plot that had my attention.
Overall, I enjoyed my time with Hela: Of Mice and Magic, and in my opinion, it could end up being one of the best games of the year. Also, for some reason I got Zelda vibes from it. I can't describe it, but it was there.

BioWare's now cancelled Mass Effect 5 new details:
🔸 Set 600+ years after the Reaper War
🔸 Play as a customizable N7 agent
🔸 A spy-thriller feel (John Wick meets James Bond), not a walking gun rack
🔸 Shepard's legacy preserved, whatever your ending
🔸 Galaxy split into three major factions
🔸 Humanity, Krogan, Batarians, and others allied together
🔸 Council races forming their own alliance
🔸 Geth rising as a third superpower
🔸 A galactic Cold War with a shadowy adversary, not another Reaper-style invasion
🔸 Geth-built megastructures
🔸 Connections between the Milky Way and Andromeda
🔸 Experimental tech implanted in you as your unique edge
🔸 Hacking and environment manipulation: see through walls, identify systems, remotely trigger hazards, and more
🔸 Handcrafted missions like ME1-3, with Hitman-style freedom in how you complete them
🔸 Brutal close-range executions
🔸 Squadmates who can clash with each other
🔸 Unsanitized romance
🔸 Liara returns as an incredibly powerful Asari Matriarch
From the teaser to the new details, everything was pointing to a strong comeback for BioWare and the Mass Effect franchise. It's a shame that studio has been shut down.
