Hello friends! I’ve started a mutual-aid publishing project called AMIKETO (Esperanto for “Little Friend”) that aims to raise money for vulnerable lives and communities through offering handsewn booklets of original and translated writing in exchange for donations. (1/5)

i actually dont think there should be any space for people changing their tune now that they oppose this current famine. it is too late. i think they should have to live with that stain forever and be totally ostracized tbh. i dont care!
If you can’t donate, create! boycott! speak out! Just don’t be silent. Just don’t wait for tomorrow to say, “I knew that crimes were being committed.”
Please donate to or spread word of @sameerproject's life-saving material support efforts. They are now operating in emergency mode, searching for food and supplies under scorching heat, forced starvation, and the threat of bullets.
🚨Gaza is starving. Gaza is BEING STARVED.🚨People are dying. People are BEING KILLED.
🚨The most destructive weapon is not dropping a nuclear bomb. The most destructive weapon is man-made hunger which will lead to the deaths of 2 million people if we do not stop it.
The Sameer Project has been forced to stop food distributions that feed entire encampments and community kitchens that feed thousands, because we cannot find food or ingredients. We usually feed tens of thousands of people per week, now we can only find limited amounts of nutritional packets and some vegetables in the markets. When we do, this supply goes to the sickest patients in hospitals to keep them alive, and we will continue to do this.
We are still able to supply water and we are still able to buy tents and provide medication. But soon this will not matter when people are dropping in the streets.
🚨Get LOUD.
🚨Protest.
🚨Disrupt.
🚨Continue to give so we can assist how we are still able to.
Everyone in Gaza, their lives, quite literally depend on this. They depend on YOU. The Sameer Project will continue to do all we can, with your help, but soon this will be the end. Unless immediate action is taken. Unless the world stops Israel from starving every man, woman, child, the elderly, the disabled, the sick, in Gaza.
🚨SAVE GAZA!!!!

*Sigh* Reminds me of how my latest translation was reviewed by a Canadian foreigner service officer at the China Center for Policy Research, and he misquoted me, the author, and misread the context of the book. With all his so-called “experience.”

An incredible life-saving matching campaign from a truly inspiring scholar. Please support her and the Sameer Project today if you can!

"To be a Palestinian translator is to become an intermediary between a vanishing world and one that refuses to acknowledge its disappearance; to carry voices across the abyss of silence; to smuggle meaning past the barricades of linguistic and political distortion..."
"And I know that when I sit down to translate a testimony or a short story from Arabic into English, I am not translating into a blank space; I am translating into a discourse already shaped by euphemism and avoidance."

Canada is so heavily complicit in Israel's crimes. Canada is not complying with its own obligations under international law to stop weapons shipments to Israel, as it is committing genocide and illegal occupation.
BREAKING: Canada authorized $37.2 million worth of new military exports to Israel in February, reveals @AlexCosh_.
The goods fall under an export category that includes bombs, torpedoes, rockets, missiles and other explosive devices.

Unbelievable work amidst unrelenting atrocities. Reminder that you can sign up to provide weekly & monthly donations as well 🌿 chuffed.org/project/help-us-…
Internet and cellular connection is largely restored in the North and slowly coming back online in the South. But while most of us didn’t know what was happening on the ground, our teams were hard at work continuing their service to others. chuffed.org/project/help-us-….
Translating Falasteen (@translatingpal) x The Sameer Project’s North teams continued water distributions. We delivered 107,000 liters of fresh drinking water on June 11. We don’t need anyone to see or acknowledge the work. As long as Palestinians in Gaza are benefiting, that’s all that matters.
Thank you to our community. Thank you for showing up daily with your solidarity and generosity. We are able to reach those in need because of your support. 🍉❤️

Bringing this back to remind everyone that we all have a role, especially grandmas.
Israel’s campaign of terror continues to rob Palestinians of every human right, if not their lives. The bombing of data centers is yet another fascist attempt to silence the survivors. Help keep Palestinians connected with loved ones, and the world!

Eid Al Adha is a time of sacrifice to give to those less fortunate. We all have a responsibility to help those suffering the unimaginable in Gaza. The Eid campaign is zakat eligible. Please come together as a community: donate and share with your family and friends
The last few weeks have been filled with massacres and horrific scenes from Gaza. The occupation continues to massacre those sheltering in schools, people searching for aid, men, women, children, the elderly as they sleep - rubble collapsing on top of them. Donate here: chuffed.org/project/131676-s… . Doctors are fainting in hospitals from exhaustion and malnutrition. Children with chronic illnesses are dying from starvation. Journalists who are risking their lives to show the truth are suffering from the total lack of food.
The tragedy in Gaza is incomprehensible while the world watches in silence. The genocide needs to end and the borders need to open but until that happens we need to continue to assist, to help people survive.
The Sameer Project provides food (2,000+ meals per week), water (140,000 liters per day) and tents to those displaced. We also provide medical care including dental, wound changes, infectious diseases campaigns, life saving medication, and special care for complex cases.
With Eid starting this week, we urge you to use your zakat and/or sadaqa money to support the people of Gaza who are still suffering after 19 months of genocide. Goods are scarce and war profiteering supported by the military occupation is at an all time high, so we need to do a big push and scale up efforts over the next week to prevent further deaths and illnesses.

If you haven’t attended a W4G workshop yet, I highly recommend you do—We learn so much more as a community working and thinking together across borders than as institutionalized, cloistered individuals working for a diploma.
We need help getting the word out about this upcoming workshop by Jamie Shearn Coan, on Resistance Literature. It’s online, June 7! Please help us out by quote tweeting and sharing! workshops4gaza.com/calendar/…

When folks respond to every act of violence by the oppressed with “I condemn”, it reproduces liberal notions of who has the right to be free. It legitimizes the idea that those living under oppression must wait until their oppressor sets them free. Which is of course the point.

ALT We were told that violence in itself is evil, and that, whatever the cause, it is unjustified morally. By what standard of morality can the violence used by a slave to break his chains be considered the same as the violence of a slave master? By what standards can we equate the violence of blacks who have been oppressed, suppressed, depressed and repressed for four centuries with the violence of white fascists? Violence aimed at the recovery of human dignity and at equality cannot be judged by the same yardstick as violence aimed at maintenance of discrimination and oppression.
