Sorry but open prison is a joke! Family ties? Not so much.

Another day of being ignored by POMs, COMs, Governors. Another day of dwindling hope.

What’s the next step when you have emailed 2 prison governors and they haven’t responded to you? Not even an acknowledgement. How do I get answers from these people? Losing the will!! 🙄😒

How long can someone be kept in closed conditions once they are a D cat prisoner on the system- can’t get answers from anyone..

Very concerning that control room will not let me speak to someone in charge of the prison today to make an urgent safeguarding referral for a vulnerable young adult who has been stabbed and requires urgent medical attention.
Incredibly proud of our Director Janet Wallsgrove whose work for the prison service has been recognised with an OBE in the New Year's Honours List. Starting out as an officer on the landings she serves as an inspiration for us all!@g4s@HiddenHeroes_UK

When he gets to a prison for resettlement, goes to appointments and they can’t do anything… smoke and mirrors, waste of time, what is this place actually for? No hope, no progression, no resettlement. Conditions of false hope and delusion.

Yep. Can’t do this anymore. Prison is toxic and designed to suck the life and soul out of anyone that gets close to it. Well done hmpps you win. I’ve no fight left in me.

We are searching for solicitors who specialise in representing IPP prisoners and life sentenced prisoners for parole. If you know of any, please provide recommendations. It is crucial for both us and the prisoners that they receive adequate legal representation.

NEW - response to my FOIA on the reasons why the Justice Secretary refused to accept 146 out of 168 recommendations by @Parole_Board for people in prison to be transferred to open conditions in the year ending May 2023 laurakjanes.co.uk/blog/the-r…

Up until now we’ve had good probation officers. There have been quite a few but they have all been similar in their approach & views..now just before his hearing we get one of the ones that give probation a bad name! Hopefully she won’t be here long & we will get another soon 🤞🏼

Radio F**king silence.. clearly no one cares.. we are just another number, another report, another case.. it might be your work but it’s our life, and our future.

Don’t you love it when omu move goalposts because of ‘opinions’ & there’s no one to ask, no response from anyone & you are just sat wondering if he will ever come home..what is the point of this farce, just give him mandatory life and be done with it rather than this cruel abuse.

I can’t believe we waited all these years to get to this prison, to get to a c cat! It’s worse than maximum security. Feels like a step back not progressive! I actually hate it and I’m losing hope. Does it get worse before it gets better? Because I’ve had enough.
