CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE SHOULD ALWAYS BE 100% AUSTRALIAN OWNED. One Nation has come out and said that they are willing to allow foreigners to own sovereign infrastructure such as power stations. This is blatantly wrong and a complete backflip on their previous position. Sovereign infrastructure must always be 100% Australian owned for the following reasons: 1) Capital fight - sovereign infrastructure profits must be redirected into the Australian economy not sent offshore 2) Erosion of the tax base. There are numerous loopholes in the tax act for foreign investors that erode our tax base. The erosion of taxes must be made up the through higher taxes on Australian workers 3) Loss of income for State Governments. Privatising sovereign infrastructure has resulted in State governments losing their revenue streams that fund essential service like hospitals and schools. Its times like these I know I made the right decision in not joining One Nation. There is no way I could tolerate this sell out. Our children must come first and that can only happen if our Infrastructure is owned and operated by Australians. One of our key policies is our Infrastructure Bank not foreign ownership. The Infrastructure Bank will fund Infrastructure, not foreigners so that our children can reap the benefit.
