An interesting thing about the new crop of race communist retards is that they're truly a-historical in a Maoist sense. The "addiction as disease" thing always felt wrong to me. Most "addicts" just seem to be people trying to escape various negative aspects of their lives. The alternative to substsnce use is not just "sobriety" per se, but "having a decent life".
