If you don't like reading avoid this "unc's" post
In a word, I feel detached. Not in a negative sense. It started with commissions, it boiled down to having at most now 1 client who I still very much appreciate, who brings me a project or something they want, thank you.

Truthfully, this just highlights how fragile Fortnite's UGC ecosystem really is.
Creators already face the constant risk of their projects breaking due to updates and balance changes across BR and UEFN.
On top of that, we're competing for player attention on a platform where Epic can fundamentally shift player interest overnight.
I fully respect Epic's right to make decisions about its own platform. However, when the creator ecosystem is already struggling, changes like this introduce yet another layer of uncertainty.
Creators can adapt to change, but it's incredibly difficult to build something sustainable when the foundation you're building on never stops shifting.
UGC looks rough this season, but a lot of it is Epic’s modes getting huge.
At the same time each night:
Epic modes: ~310K to ~1.2M
Creator maps: ~200K to ~210K
Creator share went from 39% to 15%, but maps are still pulling about the same number of players.
Hours on creator maps are down ~20%. The last two November surges also faded in about 11 days.

Honestly got excited because I submitted it some days ago.
I’m done at this point. Truly too tired to want to try anything again. It will never be what it was and I will always cherish the old days, the beginning was magical. Sorry Epic.

Part of the "Backroom Greens" Project
I had explored it between 3 different starts due to errors on my end, but never crafted a good story around it
A project that we had a lot of fun and learned a lot with this one.

Former Valve dev Chet Faliszek has fired back at Epic CEO Tim Sweeney over his latest attacks on Steam.
Sweeney claims Valve is holding PC gaming back and criticizes Steam’s AI disclosure rules.
Faliszek argues that these disclosures help players make informed decisions:
“You’re just treating players like they’re stupid.”
He also points out that Epic’s own Fab marketplace uses AI disclosures.
And his response to Sweeney? Put Alan Wake 2 on Steam if you’re really that pro-consumer.

Unless you are in the top 5% of creators, Sponsored Row is a waste of time and money.
It needs to be completely reworked
Here's a breakdown of the time and investment in Break and Steal Eggs, along with the additional investment we had planned before the game was removed from Discover tabs.
- Sponsored row: $5,400
- Asset costs: $1,100
- Total spent: $6,500
- Time invested: 20 days of work (13 updates)
Additional investment planned: $4,000
Throughout this period, we've done live events and boss fights, built an active community, and achieved strong metrics. We were committed to improving this game but discover completely kicked us out with no support.
We also planned a streamer campaign to attract more players to our game and Fortnite. However, after the game was removed from Discover tabs, we decided to stop further investment and time.
We are sharing our experience to show how challenging it has become to gain and maintain exposure in discover, even with consistent updates, investment, strong metrics, and an engaged community. We've concluded that it's more so of a luck based system rather than meeting expected metrics or we're not getting enough data. #UEFN
