NIH research = running a golf club 🏌️♂️
Direct costs: golf balls, clubs, green fees (researchers, equipment).
Indirect costs: maintain the course, clubhouse staff, water the greens (keep the lab running).
No clubhouse = no golf
No indirects = no research
