Lifetime cannabis use linked to BIGGER brain volumes!
Key findings on the brain:
People who had used cannabis more over their lifetime tended to have larger brain volumes in specific regions that have lots of cannabinoid receptors (the parts of the brain that respond to cannabis compounds).
These regions included the caudate and putamen (involved in movement and habits), hippocampus (important for memory), and amygdala (involved in emotions).
Key findings on thinking and memory:
More lifetime cannabis use was linked to better scores on tests for learning new things, quick thinking/processing speed, and short-term memory.
Even people who only used cannabis during their teenage years (then stopped) showed larger brain areas in those regions and better thinking performance compared to people who never used it.

Many growers simply discard cannabis leaves as waste, but a new study suggests they're throwing away something potentially priceless.
Chemists at Stellenbosch University in South Africa used advanced chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry to uncover a rare class of compounds in cannabis leaves: flavoalkaloids. These molecules are extremely uncommon in nature and had never before been identified in cannabis. Known for powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, flavoalkaloids show promise for treating cancer, chronic inflammation, and other conditions.
The researchers examined three cultivated cannabis strains and detected a total of 79 phenolic compounds, 25 of which were entirely new to cannabis science. Most strikingly, 16 of these were the rare flavoalkaloids, and they appeared predominantly in the leaves of just one strain.
The real surprise? These valuable compounds weren’t in the prized buds, but in the leaves that are routinely tossed after harvest.
Lead researcher Dr. Magriet Muller noted that cutting-edge analytical techniques made it possible to isolate these scarce molecules from the much more abundant flavonoids and other common compounds. Even seasoned cannabis chemists were taken aback by the findings.
While most research continues to focus on well-known cannabinoids like THC and CBD, this discovery reveals that cannabis chemistry is far richer and more complex than previously thought.

Concept Artist here, the "AI hate" directed at Larian Studio is 100% ignorant and bad faith virtue-signaling.
Artists are NOT against AI usage as a tool, we're against Generative AI that was trained on real artworks and mass-produced "slops" that imitated our hard work and then marketed as our replacement.
In pre-production, the art team would grab random pics off the internet and other games to create a general mood board for aesthetics and "vibe" that fit the art direction (There are more nuances than this, I'm describing this in the most simplified way possible)
A mood board of a character may include several pictures of other videogames or anime shows, dozens of object with "texture references" for parts of their attire, multiple reference pictures of relevant objects such as animals or historical weapons or even other character artwork made for other games; ALL of which are randomly drawn from the internet and put together for the purpose of creating an overall aesthetic for a design that will become original in its own way inspired by its references and the artist's own creativity and originality to visualize it when they create the design by doing ART.
Larian Studio mentioned using AI to streamline this process; an actively menial labor of "looking for relavant and cool pics on the internet" in essence.
There is zero reason why AI speeding up this process is a bad thing; it is essentially the same as someone asking Grok for facts they could have spent a few hours reading through Wikipedia pages.
None of the pictures grabbed by either the AI or the art team in this process are being exploited for any monetary gain since they're simply inspiration and visual direction, this has been standard practice in the industry for decades.
Larian admits to AI usage. E33 used AI. KCD2 allegedly used AI. Activision is using AI. Xbox is using AI. GTA 6 definitely is using AI. Indie studios with small teams probably use AI in some capacity. The chances your fav studio uses AI is extremely high, even if they don’t say it
