A few yrs ago I dreamed I met @paulscheer. I'd spent hours listening and laughing along with his podcast, so it wasn't like a random dream. A few yrs later he published a great book. And wouldn't you know it, the book was a great fit for my podcast. Some small dreams come true.

"Trans women are women" simply means people believe in the legitimacy of trans identity and experience. As a slogan I agree that it has downsides. But the claim that it is SCIENTIFICALLY inaccurate to say "trans women are women" is, itself, not correct according to science.
Replying to @LDS_Dems
As Democrats, we cannot ask the world to take us seriously on science-driven issues like global warming and COVID-19 if we all line up behind such an obviously unscientific view that trans women are women. The average person sees right through it and we lose credibility

Oh and PS—Dems didn't run on trans rights in this election. At all. They hoped they'd stay out of view. Blaming trans folks for Trump's victory isn't credible.

My views are hard-fought and still evolving, but and I stand fully with trans folks. I encourage everyone to assess their gut-level biases. Because otherwise, ill-informed views like this will continue harming trans folks. 🏳️‍⚧️

I've taken a long time to try to understand trans experiences. I'm still learning. I've gotten to know real people and listened to their stories. I've read books written for popular audiences and research written for specialists. Biological. Historical. Psychological. All sides.

And take a look at his tweet thread's reach. This app actively bolsters transphobia and suppresses trans advocacy.

This is a big reason I'm so worried for trans folks, that progressive people simply accept the same inaccurate talking points used by conservatives against gender non-conforming folks. Like it's "common sense." Their gut-level bias on full display.

Like this is just fundamentally ignorant. Completely unaware of what psychologists think about a young person's experience of gender, as well as how gender-affirming care even works.

It is not crazy or intolerant or mean or bigoted to say a child is too young to make such a life and body altering decision. And I understand that failure to block puberty will make transition much harder later. But the price of being wrong here is too high. They should wait.

Dem Saints goes on to blithely and ignorantly lambast gender affirming care and sports participation by trans athletes without showing a shred of awareness about why a real person would support either of those things, other than as a stupid attempt to be "woke" or something.

Very solid article by @NFAPResearch on the likely implications of mass deportations, based on solid empirical research. I weigh in with a few words at the end, but the research cited here is done by other brilliant scholars. forbes.com/sites/stuartander…

Question for Word experts. I am editing a podcast transcript, and the transcript software I use puts timestamps in before every transition. I want to know if there's some sort of macro I could run in a word document that would remove all of these automatically.

A sitting Congresswomen using a disgusting and bigoted slur about Americans who staged a nonviolent protest. People who use this type of despicable language should not be leading anyone.
