Local was released a year ago this week. I'm delighted to see it's still doing well. If you haven't read it, please would consider giving it a try in 2025? Even better idea: buy your local Ordnance Survey map and go search for some nearby nature and wildness this year...

Word of the day is ‘recrudescence’ (17th century): the return of something terrible after a time of reprieve.

In case you missed this earlier today. #ACityToShare #ICYMI
Pls share to help reunite this full pannier with the cyclist who's dropped it on their way through Portsmouth recently. The contents make me think it's a tourist who'll be particularly keen to get their bag returned. If (you think) it's yours, get in touch via DM

One of the things in the bag is a pair of Airpods and I've just realised I can charge them and hope the owner has "Find My" activated.

Someone has painted a Fuji digital camera entirely white *including the rear screen* and then, seemingly on discovering that it no longer works, donated it to charity where it's now on sale for £4 thus making an early submission for @TatTrove's Tat of the Week.

I've followed the talk about this book since the crowdfunder was announced. Received a copy yesterday and am so happy to have done so- a real quality production with superb imagery and wonderful text. Final product is so much more than I'd imagined from the build-up- superb!
A Time ⋅ A Place - is a book in which every 'Car of the Year' (1964-1982) is paired with a building completed in the same year - photographed by architectural photographer Daniel Hopkinson, researched and written by architect John Piercy Holroyd. buff.ly/4dYe874

Significant piece of work from Si and the @gcntweet team
Undoubtedly one of the most important videos we've* ever made. Within the first minute, you'll be alarmed at the general public perception of the danger cyclists pose to them vs cars. It's incredibly enlightening, and shows how much needs to be done to change the way we all live. •nothing to do with me, but a GREAT job by the team at GCN.

I set out to cycle through every grid square on my local map: a 300 mile journey squashed into a 20km x 20km map. I loved this ride - maybe you could try it yourself? Here's an audio slideshow about how I got on: buff.ly/4d8OStK
