The Congress Kerala handle’s reported “We will find your replacement” remark is particularly revealing. Since when does a political party speak about replacing the Chief Justice as if it were choosing its next spokesperson? If the same remark had come from a ruling-party handle, the reaction would have been entirely different. The standards for respecting constitutional offices cannot change with the party in question.
