Georgia is too high. Utah is too low. Bama is WAY to high (not a playoff team right now). Wake Forest is too low. Missouri is too low. Swap Wake Forest with Bama, and the CURRENT playoff bracket matches mine.
For the sake of debate: Talent doesn't mean well coached, so the draft picks didn't help win titles. 9 of the 10 P4 wins are against 2 loss teams. Betting odds aren't having a good season. I don't think the SEC is bad, but I wouldn't pick any but Georgia to have a shot.
The SEC only appears good because of bias? How do you explain this:
The SEC has had the most NFL Draft Picks every season for 20 years. Is the NFL biased towards the SEC?
The SEC is 38-2 out of conference this season, including 10-2 vs P4 teams. No other conference has a winning record. Are game results biased towards the SEC?
The SEC has 5 of the Top 9 teams in the betting odds to win the National Championship (the Big 12 has zero), are Vegas oddsmakers biased towards the SEC, with real money on the line?
AP Voters that are NOT affiliated with the SEC vote for the SEC at higher rates than SEC affiliated voters. Are Big Ten and Big 12 media voters biased towards the SEC over their own conferences?
Because the talent is spread out. The days of dominance are gone. The days of parody are here.
This college football season is historically chaotic. After last week's insanity and today's wildness, here are a few tidbits:
- The 11 losses by AP Top 10 teams over the last three weeks are the most in any three-week span in AP poll history
- This is the first time since 2007 that a top-two team has lost to an unranked opponent three weeks in a row
- There are fewer than four undefeated teams left in college football this early in the season for the first time since 1977 (three undefeated teams lost in Week 8 and three remain)
That makes my 12-team playoff:
Miami (ACC)
UCLA (B1G)
OSU (B1G)
Utah (Big 12)
Indiana (B1G)
BYU (Big 12)
Notre Dame
Georgia (SEC)
Kentucky (SEC)
Wake Forest (ACC)
Bosie State (G6)
Texas (SEC)
I bet those who hate the 24 team playoff are pretty happy about it now. At the moment.
@Ryan_D2TF
I couldn't put Florida in because they lost to South Carolina. I couldn't put Ole Miss in because they lost to Florida. Ditto LSU. Bama lost to Tenn and Georgia. I suppose they have an argument. I could get behind that. Wouldn't reject the 1 loss teams either.
So do you think Tennessee fans still would be in position for the playoffs make the coach happy? You think the fans storming the field care about January? Or maybe that fans just love when their team wins and hates when it looses. #thegameswillalwaysmatter

And the year after that will be better. What teams CAN'T do is pass up on a 1st round grade QB just because they think they'll have a BETTER one next year. (Mahomes was NOT #1, & he was the SECOND QB taken.) The rookie wage scale lets you work with a QB 5 years before DECIDING
Yeah, duh. Like @MLSWeech always says, next year’s class is always better.
Also, your alternative is Texas vs FCS team #7. It’s not meaningful OSU V Texas, it’s manful games agains good teams or meatless games agains lesser teams. That’s what staying at 12 would do.
I mean, they didn't even do conference championship games until 1992 (SEC). The first time all the major conferences had championships wasn't until 2011, when the Pac 12 and Big 10 got on board. So acting like this is some death of tradition is objectively misleading.
All this talk about the @SEC playing 9 games is interesting. Let's just see 1) how many of them make the 12 team CFP and then 2) how do they play against quality teams (other playoff teams). If they all get bounced vs the first non-SEC team, we know the reality.
Play 9 games. Play 8. I don't care. But all conferences should play the same # of conference games, and the other 3-4 games should be against similar opponents from other P4 conferences. (For all #CFB)
Let's get @MagicJacks0n to the @ShrinersBowl The guy should get a chance.
Have to be honest. The facts are facts.
Not an SEC fan, but I'd swap Kentucky and Utah, but it's early. Utah wins out, they should be in. If they beat Houston, they should be in. But I'm not positive they beat Houston.
This makes my 12 playoff teams:
Miami (ACC)
UCLA (B1G)
BYU (Big 12)
OSU (B1G)
Tennessee (SEC)
Notre Dame
Ole Miss (SEC)
Indiana (B1G)
Georgia (SEC)
Kentucky (SEC)
Iowa (B1G)
Bosie State (G6)
Lucky for you all, @MLSWeech had homework to do. So he was up late enough to do his #Top25 #CollegeFootballRankings
