LAUNCHED: FNB Namibia has launched We Save, a group savings product that allows up to 90 members to save collectively, with a minimum opening balance of N$100 and a requirement for three signatories.
The stokvel-style offering is aimed at group savings for purposes such as family and travel plans. It carries no monthly fees, supports payouts to both FNB and non-FNB clients, and requires approval from at least three signatories for transactions, according to FNB Head of Investment, Ziggy Muinjo.

The ministry of gender really needs to pull up their socks and provide leadership regarding this gender-based violence crisis we’re facing.
JUST IN: A 34-year-old man from Oshihenge village in Oshana Region has been arrested after he allegedly attacked his 66-year-old mother with a panga before sexually assaulting a 10-year-old Angolan girl who lives in the same house. It is alleged that the man returned home drunk from local shebeens and demanded food. When he discovered there was no food available for him, he reportedly forced entry into his mother's room and severely attacked her with a panga, inflicting multiple serious injuries. Following the assault, he forced his way into the minor’s room and sexually assaulted her. He has been arrested.

What a time to be alive. PAPSS is a pan-African cross-border payment system that allows traders to transact in their local currencies instantly. We just need BON to integrate and avail it to commercial banks then Namibia is live..
On the margins of the G20 Leaders’ Summit, the AfCFTA Secretariat and its partners will host two high-level sessions in Johannesburg, advancing Africa’s priorities on payment connectivity and private sector competitiveness.
1️⃣ Unlocking Africa’s Payment Connectivity
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM (SAST)
2️⃣ African Private Sector Hearings (APSH)
4:00 PM – 6:30 PM (SAST)
Both sessions will take place at the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice, bringing together policymakers, business leaders, and technical experts to strengthen Africa’s trade architecture.

Address the willing buyer, willing seller principle. Which is how government has been acquiring ‘back’ land from the Apartheid administration.

Economic leakage in Namibia: When wealth enters but doesn’t circulate
By Dr Penny Tuna Magdalena Uukunde
Namibia is not short of vision. We are not short of policies, frameworks, or even goodwill. From industrialisation plans to procurement reform, youth development charters to tourism strategies, Namibia shines on paper.
But what do we have to show for all this brilliance if the wealth we generate enters the country but fails to circulate?
We are experiencing economic leakage not only in the literal sense—through capital outflows or expatriate profit repatriation—but in a deeper, more systemic way.
