D3 doesn’t ban athletic scholarships by accident. It bans them on purpose.
No scholarship = no pressure to treat sports like a job. Athletes stay students first. Why is that an issue? Result of their approach? Highest graduation rates in the NCAA, the most participants, and kids who actually play for the love of the game.
Force scholarships and you kill the only division that still operates as the last form of amateurism in the country.

Mount Marty University will host candidates for the Sister Mary Arthur Schramm Nursing scholarship interviews in the month of November, giving first year and transfer students the opportunity to receive $33,000 per year in scholarships for the duration of their time at the university. Sister Mary Arthur Schramm, a retired nursing professor, started the university’s nurse anesthesia program more than 50 years ago.
Students must have a 3.8 unweighted GPA to be considered for the scholarship interview, which includes meeting with nursing faculty, sitting in on a nursing class, complimentary lunch on campus, and a faculty-guided tour of the Avera Science & Nursing Center. Interested students can read more about the scholarship and register here: loom.ly/00MW-u0

Think years, not days.
When legendary marathon runner Frank Shorter was asked about his training, he said: two hard workouts, a long run, and as much mileage as you can handle. Repeat for years.
The last part is the key. You want an exercise program that is sustainable.

Today is the birthday of Czech distance running legend, Emil Zátopek. Between 1949 and 1951 Zatopek competed in 69 long-distance races and won every one. Five years later in 1954, he was the first runner to break the 29-minute barrier in the 10,000m.
