Meet the future Gold Line. 🚌✨
Metro is partnering with @DDOTDC to bring faster, more reliable bus service to H Street NE and Benning Road NE through the Gold Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.
Unlike traditional bus service, BRT combines features like dedicated lanes, improved traffic signals, enhanced stations, and faster boarding to create a more efficient, dependable travel experience while making streets safer for everyone.
The Gold Line will also strengthen connections between neighborhoods, Union Station, and the RFK Campus, making it easier for people to get where they need to go every day. 🚌🏠🏈🚆
Follow along in the coming weeks as we share more about Metro’s future Gold Line and how it will help improve travel along the corridor. Learn more about the project here: wmata.com/initiatives/plans-…
From dozens of unhealthy air days to just five in 2026, our region is achieving a cleaner future by meeting federal ozone standards.🌳 Learn more: capitalweather.com/dc-region…
Some rare good environmental news! 🌎
After decades of efforts to cut pollution, the DC region has finally met federal air quality standards for ozone.
The progress is remarkable: In the late 1990s and early 2000s, we routinely had dozens of unhealthy air days each year. So far in 2026, we've had just five.
A major clean air milestone — and a win for public health. EPA approval is the final step.
Details: capitalweather.com/dc-region…
Historic milestone! The DMV region is officially meeting the 2015 federal ozone standard. We also recorded a positive 2026 season with just four Code Orange days and one Code Red. Regional action means cleaner air for everyone. 🌱Learn more: mwcog.org/newsroom/2026/10/2…
