My opinion on the recent LGE, the fragmented black vote and what it means for the future of majority blacks in SA. Voting alone does nothing for us. #MustRead

This bullshit theories about personalities is the reason the ANC has collapsed over the last 30 years.
ANC is IN government with fiscal and monetary policies diametrically opposed to needs of over 80% of population.
FIX that , might see change by 2029 not gimkicks
The African National Congress (ANC) needs an outsider like Patrice Motsepe to survive. It needs someone untied to its internal contradictions and cartels if it is to be taken seriously as a governing party again.
The familiar faces in its leadership have nothing left to offer when it comes to rebuilding public confidence.
It also needs President Cyril Ramaphosa to step down at least two years before his term ends. That would give a new leader enough time to change direction, rebuild, and show the nation that the change is genuine.
The ANC has failed to deliver public services and has been mired in massive corruption. Its next leader must therefore be someone who does not need political power to loot, or to let his friends loot.
Alternatively, depending on the mood of South Africans, the ANC should turn to a solid, young leader from KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), because the tribal element in the province's politics is self-evident. But who could that be?
The crisis facing the ANC is one of incompetence, corruption and a complete failure to inspire confidence. The party is riddled with factionalism whose sole purpose is to hold on to raw power, and nothing else. It is no longer the party of big ideas that it was decades ago.
Black South Africans are now turning to the Democratic Alliance (DA) in greater numbers than ever before, even taking wards from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). That tells you the ANC has run out of ideas capable of inspiring the nation.
If the ANC does not make these drastic decisions, it will soon be a story for the history books.
Politics should never be about raw power alone. It should be about a credible economic vision, driven by bold and brilliant new ideas.
A voter turnout thats below 50% of registered voters means we have an illegitimate gov.... that is a recipe for disaster
1752 ANC councillors are officially unemployed.
245 DA councillors are officially unemployed.
602 EFF councillors are officially unemployed.
ANC and EFF shed to MKP and ActionSA
DA she’s to PA.

Then u are against the very same democrattic principle u advance for demanding for Zille to be made a mayor......you are disgusting 🤣
Replying to @Chiwayange
I have no interest in the MKP or the EFF. I am convinced that they are destructive for South Africa. They will enable corruption, enhance state malfunction and result in societal collapse. Any party that enters into alliance with either does not have SA’s interest at heart.

Did you share the same sentiment about the MKP, when they were the biggest party in KZN in the last elections?
Replying to @AdHabb
3. Denying Helen the position of mayor is legally permissible but would violate the substantive intent of our democracy. How can the biggest party be excluded? We should therefore try and avoid it if at all possible? So what are Helen’s options for coalition partners?

Five hung metros. One majority. Zero comfort.
The IEC numbers tell you who can sit at the table. The politics tells you who gets to stay there.
JOHANNESBURG - 270 seats. Majority: 136.
DA 98. ANC 53. ActionSA 44.
DA + ActionSA = 142. Four-seat cushion.
That is not a coalition. That is a hostage situation with a whips' office.
One floor-crossing, one resignation, one sick day - and the council flips. The ANC waits in the wings. Not because it has the numbers. Because instability is the only strategy left that still works.
TSHWANE 214 seats. Majority: 108.
DA 74. ActionSA 47. ANC 43.
ActionSA is not kingmaker here. It is the only king.
The ANC cannot govern without them. The DA cannot govern without them. Every portfolio, every deputy mayor, every committee chair goes through ActionSA's hands first.
The question is not whether ActionSA gets leverage. It is whether it can spend the leverage without collapsing the thing it just won.
EKURHULENI 224 seats. Majority: 113.
DA 71. ANC 48. ActionSA 42.
DA + ActionSA = 113.
Exactly on the line. No cushion. No margin. No forgiveness.
This is the most fragile coalition in the country. If it forms, it does so on borrowed time. If it fails, the ANC defaults through smaller parties not because the ANC has the votes, but because everyone else runs out of options first.
ETHEKWINI 223 seats. Majority: 112.
MK 90. DA 54. ANC 38.
MK needs 22. The ANC has 38. The math is obvious. The politics is ugly.
MK was born as a split from the ANC. Governing with the parent party in its own backyard is not alliance. It is surrender dressed as pragmatism.
The alternative MK + DA at 144 is mathematically dominant and politically absurd. Unless the numbers force it. And the numbers always force things eventually.
NELSON MANDELA BAY 120 seats. Majority: 61.
DA 53.
Eight seats. That is all that stands between majority rule and another round of scrambling.
EFF. ACDP. Whoever has the seats. This one gets resolved first because it is the easiest math in the country.
MANGAUNG 101 seats. Majority: 51.
ANC 36. DA 33.
Fifteen seats either way. Thirty-two seats floating in the hands of smaller parties.
This is where the ANC's national dominance means nothing. The local machine either holds or it doesn't. And if it doesn't, Mangaung goes into administration. Not coalition. Not agreement. Provincial intervention.
The quiet part.
The ANC and DA have never formed a municipal coalition together. Not in 2024's 142 councils. Not in the 33 that followed.
The GNU exists at national level. The municipal level stays silent.
That silence is the whole story.
Because the numbers tell you who can sit at the table. The politics tells you who gets to stay there. And if history is any guide, none of them do.
This is simplistic, its happening and has been with principal positions in schools, and many other fields, education or lack of it is not the reason, but an economy that benefits the few, where economic opportunities are concentrated among few, breeds jealousy

Have the elections results reach Anaphylaxis yet ?@drtlaleng
Prioritize South Africans and you will have less afrophobia. It's not an accident that it's the poor who are most concerned with illegal immigration. They are the ones most impacted by it.

There's a new sheriff in town, and the message is LOUD AND CLEAR! Illegal immigrants in Hillbrow and Berea must start packing their bags and run now because the days of lawlessness, illegal occupation and turning a blind eye are OVER. ActionSA will Restore Law and Order!!

Those things are useless. Deliver services and door-to-door. Simple. Rallies can’t mask poor performance.
Idk why people say the issue of illegal immigration cant be used at local gov when its local gov that that carries the burden. And bcoz DA and ANC are in gov, then its only correct to use it to influence national policy...
