This language is how the politicals at the Pentagon's press shop described what they wanted the press corps to do, and why they brought the new folks in after the Pentagon press corps was ousted from the building.
“Serve her president” is such a creepy phrase. Nobody ever talked like this before Trump.

Hegseth only speaks to audiences of military officers and hand-picked enlisted, so is never in a position to be heckled publicly like this.
First protester dragged out of Hegseth's drone panel, shouting about genocide and holding a "No War With Iran" banner. Rapidly followed by a second. "Why are you all here making money off of bombs killing my family?"

Hope some realize now that their perception of big-J journalists “not doing their jobs” was in fact due to a great example of them doing their jobs - diligence, skepticism, verification - standards the amateurs skip because their only guiding principle is engagement

Archbishop Paul Coakley, president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, calls the Pentagon's plan to live-stream the execution of Nidal Hasan "a barbaric promotion of a culture of death." "The word of God exhorts us: ‘do not repay anyone evil for evil' (Romans 12:17). The public execution even of one who has done grave harm will only further undermine the moral fabric of our nation and be a blight on the conscience of its people." usccb.org/news/2026/usccb-pr…

Vance didn't just give a weird definition of socialism. He also said the left should love his immigration policy because it adheres to good socialist principles. This admin loves exerting control over the private sector while making "socialism" its main bogeyman. Is irony dead?

Guys, it's USS Abraham Lincoln. Or Abe. I know the Pentagon keeps calling it USS Lincoln, but that is not a thing.
CNN was there for the reunion of a USS Lincoln crewmember with his family as the aircraft carrier strike group returns from a near-record deployment. CNN’s Pamela Brown reports from on board the ship.

This is so laughably dishonest. The Trump administration would like to change the definition of socialism because it's *engaging in it* and has bought stakes in dozens of private companies. JD Vance is practically a woke progressive at this point.
Asked how he defines socialism, @VP Vance says: "I don't know what the term means anymore. I think in reality, what it actually means in the American context is that you want to replace American workers with foreign workers, and you want boys to play in girls' sports."

Lots of fancy reporter types dunking on this quote and story but the cub reporter bought a local paper and is trying to make it work. We should applaud the effort and not punch down. I’d take a cub reporter who can learn over a private equity bottom line cutting machine.

Maybe don’t dunk on a 25-year-old kid who just saved his hometown newspaper and has already grown its readership by posting article summaries on TikTok. This guy knows more about how to make interesting local journalism than you. We need more Evan Newtons. 🫡

We don't have to. We actually can just keep on using AI, a phrase that is commonly understood, rather than acquiesce and start using government- or corporate-derived jargon that is designed to sanitize a technology that deserves scrutiny.
I was in a briefing with an Air Force general yesterday who on multiple occasions used the term "superintelligence" to refer to AI. So I guess we're doing this now

The "elephant in the room" here is the political structure that can repeatedly humiliate a woman through her husband’s actions and still require her to publicly stand beside him and endorse him. That structure deserves a lot more scrutiny.

The Pentagon wants to look to the future in domains the DoD must conquer. This effort called Project Meridian will be led by Elon Musk, Palmer Luckey, and Newt Gingrich says @SecWar Hegseth.

Haven’t seen the White House use “CPC” in an official communication before — it’s almost always “CCP” (yes, even when rendering official titles). Unlike most pedantic details like the menu or color of the tablecloths, this one really matters to the Communist Party.

I think it’s fair game to report on any member of Congress referring to their staff as the F slur
Scoop: Inside the tumult in the @nytimes that’s discovered that Mary Peltola has scandalously asked staffers to help feed pets while she travels thousands of miles - oh and she sends texts that read like 90% of the men in Congress! With weeks to go before a make or break election against a corrupt regime, this is now what passes for urgent political reporting from the most important media platform in America. I don’t want to single out anyone, but if they write stories about the toughness of people like Rahm Emanuel it’s with a kind of admiration for the combativeness with his friends and foes alike. This just isn’t serious.

This is grotesque behavior. Joe Biden was an American president. Xi is a communist dictator, and the head of a foreign state. Our internal divisions are not fair game in this context. xitter.cf/MargoMartin47/status/2…
