He absolutely started, and for a moment seemed immoveable from surprise; but shortly recovering himself, advanced towards the party, and spoke to Elizabeth, if not in terms of perfect composure, at least of perfect civility.

White privileged patriarchy is America's poison.
That's why there's a goddamned PEDOPHILE in the White House.
That's what a 34x convicted FELON is President.
White boys aren't held to ANY STANDARDS.

everything that Anne Carson has written is risky & original in some (unpredictable) way. truly an unclassifiable imagination-- poet, translator, essayist, philosopher, observer of the vicissitudes of life; we'd met just once decades ago at Princeton where Anne Carson was an instructor in the Classics Dept. & I was--hypothetically--just a "visitor" for one year in Creative Writing.
not predictable that Anne would move on, & on, & on to numerous universities & I would remain at Princeton; now hoping that she is in Canada & not caught up in toxic US politics so antithetical to the humanism & freedom of the imagination required for the soul to breathe.

Maybe those of you who haven’t listened when I’ve said machine-made art is inferior to human art because it lacks the spark of humanity will listen to the POPE.
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
