The shamelessness of this when they have only just lost power in Wales. To pretend they care about further devolution within Wales (which Plaid was always much keener on anyway). This ploy by UK Labour to block further devo to Wales is so obvious we can all see it.
Replying to @SKinnock
Devolution was never intended to stop at Cardiff Bay - and we risk Wales soon becoming the most centralised nation in the UK. Whilst we recognise it’s for Welsh Government to determine how local govt works in Wales, we’re offering to work in partnership to unlock Wales' potential

Some voice for Wales in cabinet you turned out to be. A 0.5% cut in real terms over a three year period and almost 10% off capital spending.
Leeds got £300 million for one train station.
This Budget gives people in Wales breathing space.

🚨 Welsh rail has been short-changed again.
UK Labour's £14bn rail promise has translated into a recycled announcement of £30m in this Autumn Budget. That doesn't even cover the cost of Cardiff Parkway Station.
Wales voted for a fairer deal from Westminster. On rail, we're still waiting to see it. 🥀

Roedd sgandal HS2 yn ddigon gwael, ond mae Cymru ar ei cholled unwaith eto.
Addawodd Llafur £14 biliwn i'n rheilffyrdd, ond yr oll rydym wed'i gael yw ailgyhoeddiad o £30 miliwn.
Bydd Plaid Cymru yn parhau i sefyll dros Gymru a mynnu ein bod yn cael yr hyn sy'n ddyledus i ni.

Wales' Deputy Transport Minister Mark Hooper described £30 million in the UK Government's Budget for Welsh rail as "an insult". The UK Government previously committed to deliver £14 billion towards rail. The Welsh Government said it wanted The Chancellor to announce £1 billion of that in his budget.

Mae eu methiant i fuddsoddi yn eu rhwydwaith yng Nghymru yn dangos yr angen i ddatganoli rheilffyrdd.
Mae Cymru’n haeddu cyllid teg a rhesymol.”

UK Government derails Welsh rail vision. @markjhooper responds:
“It’s an insult to the people of Wales.
Their failure to invest in their network in Wales demonstrates the need for devolution of rail.
Wales deserves fair and reasonable funding”

The UK Government will try to present today's Budget as a win for Wales. The reality?
Once inflation is taken into account, this is still a real-terms cut to our funding.

Following today's UK Government budget announcement and its implications for Wales, Cabinet Minister for Finance Elin Jones said:
“This is a real-terms cut dressed up as a windfall. The UK Government will try to present today's budget as a win for Wales. It isn't."

£450m over three years sounds impressive until you look at the detail.
Wales would have needed a further £350m in 2027-28 alone just to avoid a real-terms cut to day-to-day spending.
This underwhelming Budget delivers the worst funding settlement for Wales in years.

Labour promised a reset in the relationship between Wales and Westminster 🏴
Today's Budget suggests the Treasury hasn't got the memo 🥀

ALT The UK Prime Minister and Chancellor with a Welsh flag behind them and text "Another Labour Budget: Another raw deal for Wales".

ALT A Notes App style graphic: "- A real-terms cut to Wales’ budget Rising costs mean Wales will have less money to spend on vital public services. - No meaningful investment in rail Labour promised £14billion, yet this Budget delivers just £30million - that’s just 0.2%! - Poor cost of living support With energy bills set to rise by 27% in the new year, the support doesn’t go far enough. Wales faces some of the highest electricity charges in Britain!"
