Irresponsible rhetoric by Stewart Phillip. Canada's 600+ First Nations benefit from the framework of Canada that exists. Arguing that small governments should have large powers akin to the provinces and federal government is a recipe for more regulatory hurdles, decreased investment, and more poverty for all. DRIPA leads directly to that.
WAR Declared By BC's Indigenous If DRIPA Is Repealed- Which Was Promised By The BC Conservative Government.

I have to wonder if people like who re-tweet support for October 7th actually grasp what a massacre is. That's in addition to understanding that when faced with men who will murder you because they don't accept your existence, a country has no choice but to war in Gaza against Hamas. See some photos from the Nova festival music site. I was there at the end of September. See the bar manager, a young woman, murdered and likely at the site of the "Coca-Cola" stand. The bodies, including hers, were obviously removed. That's who Dr Rahmeh Aladwan and re-tweeters are celebrating the deaths of, by men that would massacre again given the chance.
Jeissy So is the Supply Chain Manager for @RiekerCanada, a established Swiss shoe brand founded in 1874. Jeissy So is a supporter of the foreign designated terrorist group Hamas & does not condemn the October 7th terrorist attacks that murdered the most Jews in a single day since the Holocaust. During the 4th anniversary of the October 7thterrorist attacks, Jeissy So posted a solidarity photo of a woman flashing the Hamas inverted triangle sign with the caption “Long Live The Resistance”, an ode to Hamas. Jeissy So condemns “the existence of Israel”, which includes posting videos of its flag burning & compares Hamas to Americans fighting ICE immigration officers. This is a Notice of Public Interest to the Jewish community of Toronto regarding this radical supporter of a foreign designated terrorist groups known to murder Jews. Further we suggest a boycott of Reiker shoes given they are most likely aware of Jeissy So’s radical support of terrorism. But Trinity Western *mustn't* have a law school.
McGill’s law school receives roughly 1,500 applications for just 180 spots. It gave one of those spots to a convicted murderer in his mid-60s, who will never pass the good character requirements to practice, and who violated his parole multiple times. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/…

If Amjad Taha said this in Canada, he would of course be accused of Islamophobia, despite the obvious...
To the West: stop trying to be more Muslim than us. Ban the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood uses your democracy to censor your freedom of speech. Islamists created the term “Islamophobia” to STOP YOU from criticising TERRORISTS.

Many of Obama's policies were the wrong ones and led directly to Donald Trump being elected the first time. But he rightly gets the absurdity of a president who cozies up to Putin and makes Canada the adversary.
Obama: "That well-known evil empire Canada. That historical adversary of ours. Canada! *laughs* It's your neighbor. It's a few minutes' drive over the bridge! These are the people who gave us Martin Short and maple syrup. They are the nicest people! And someone we've gotten them so mad."

In France, they riot and loot "for Palestine." In the Middle East, they kill "for Palestine." The Islamic regime in Iran attacks Jews, Christians, and Muslims "for Palestine." Hamas committed the October 7 genocide in Israel "for Palestine." At some point, perhaps we should stop asking where the problem is and start noticing the rather obvious pattern. The clue has been repeated four times.

Exactly. When Quebec politicians ignore the Constitution, they are in Trump-imitation mode. And don't waste your time with debagting arguments that Quebec never signed the 1982 Constitution. As Pierre Trudeau pointed out at the time, it wasn't necessary for Quebec to sign that for it to be binding upon Quebec. In addition, Quebec governments avail themslves of the Constitution when they feel like it, such as use of the notwithstanding clause. Quebec is in. And that, and the rule of law, is what swearing an oath to the King, is about.
"I know very well that the monarchy is not popular among people. That's fine. But the reality is Canada is a constitutional monarchy." He adds that politicians must "obey the supreme law of the land," or "you know what we end up with? Donald Trump."

I see the separatists in the Alberta Prosperity Project are at war with each other. As I've explained at length elsewhere, I more than "get" the frustrations being a born-bred Westerner (BC, then Alberta), and have written on the issues from equalization to energy to representation for two decades for think tanks, advocacy groups, and in the 2019 @UCP platform of which I was the lead "architect." But separation enthusiasts misread the core problem (as do those who think separatists should be treated as deplorables). Instead: recognize that Quebec separatists and their ilk drove the agenda in Canada since the 1970s and that's the core problem. To counter that, everyone from the prime minister @MarkJCarney on down should call their bluff the next time any Quebec separatist or their water carriers pop up and demand something. Quebec separatists will not win a referendum given the demographic changes and given what Quebec's government would have to give up in terms of federal transfers. And Quebec is in relative decline vis-a-vis Ontario and Western Canada. (See the numbers in my @nationalpost column below.) Lastly, on the Alberta Prosperity Project, no one seemed to notice separatists filched that name from the @FraserInstitute . When I was a senior fellow at the Fraser Institute from 2010-2015, I led our Alberta Prosperity Project. We produced a tremendous amount of solid analyses that always paved the way for greater prosperity in Alberta and indeed for all of Canada via Alberta. We are at a tipping point in Canada, if our leaders get the core problem (Quebec separatists and their take-take-take demands) and say no next time, and every time, to their demands. Call their bluff. As for the Alberta Prosperity Project, there was nothing original or clever about the name, borrowed as it was from successful Fraser Institute work. See the numbers on Quebec separatism as a threat in this column from earlier this year: aristotlefoundation.org/colu…

One of the reasons Shakespeare has been so influential in the English-speaking world is because his characters are real. We recognize all the successes, follies, and temptations inherent in human beings in his creations. See our newest book excerpt in our Great Thoughts series.

As new laws like Canada's Combatting Hate Act expand the reach of legal restrictions, a critical question remains: Are we losing sight of freedom of expression as a fundamental right?
