For the love of God, stop. This rout didn’t happen because of voter fraud or non-citizen voting. It happened because conservatives and independents sat home or voted Democrat because they think Trump broke his promises to them and they’re struggling.

The odds of this just went up, anyway.
With JD tied so closely to Trump and some of his worst decisions, Vance's odds of being the nominee in '28 took a hit last night.
One path to victory in 2028 is a DeSantis/Rubio or Rubio/DeSantis ticket.
Ron DeSantis is incredibly Conservative and anyone who has been blessed to live in Florida will tell you how popular he and his governing style is.
Marco Rubio is well known for being incredibly talented and a master of multi-tasking. He is a generational talent.
America would be lucky to have this ticket.

The US has no idea the world of hurt that it has ushered. It is truly soul-crushing to see some of the outcomes. My reaction is not based on partisan politics but rather a deep love and reverence for the US. Regrettably, American Exceptionalism is increasingly disappearing. I will continue fighting in the battle of ideas but I fear that this might be a fatal inflection point. May the America of the Founding Fathers eventually prevail.

There were multiple reasons. I’d argue that the messy tariffs rollout was the moment a lot of voters started to decide the administration was not prioritizing affordability, a sentiment that calcified over time for various reasons…and became politically lethal.

I’m generally not a “team player”, but I have done my best to hold my tongue over the last few months. Trump made a big mistake, and he should have known better. High gas prices and a war are no way to go into a midterm. Total disaster and totally predictable.
