@MartinSpringett

I'm addicted to making music whether anyone is listening or not, but I do prefer it when someone is! I'm also addicted to making images.

Before moving last month, we removed the bookmarks from our thousands of books. While many were old receipts, business cards, etc., the single greatest number were these @MartinSpringett bookmarks from @MunrosBooks. Now that we're living in Victoria again, we can always get more!

Like so many of you, I’m pained by these recent tragedies. And I’m exhausted by a heartbreak that never seems to stop. Right now it’s George, Breonna, and Ahmaud. Before that it was Eric, Sandra, and Michael. It just goes on, and on, and on.

#2019books: I took a trip back to 1986 to read @guygavrielkay’s Fionavar Tapestry series. This classic high fantasy series has roots in Irish & English myth and should be a staple in any fantasy reader’s library. If you missed it because...you weren’t born yet, it’s worth a read.

The human ability to need and be able to echo the natural world in images is clearly a deep part of who we are. This is amazing !

This long-eared owl was delicately engraved on the soft surface of the rock over 30,000 years ago in the Chauvet-Pont-d’Arc Cave. It is the oldest known image of an owl and may well be the earliest representation of the birds unique ability to turn its head through 180 degrees.

Had the same thought, Martin - they'll be complementary to yours on my shelf and are a worthy successor in how they evoke a tapestry's elements or an illuminated manuscript. Your envisioning of THE Tree drew me to buy my first Kay book, and remains the favourite still, though.
