@MartinSpringett

I'm addicted to making music whether anyone is listening or not, but I do prefer it when someone is! I'm also addicted to making images.

Before moving last month, we removed the bookmarks from our thousands of books. While many were old receipts, business cards, etc., the single greatest number were these @MartinSpringett bookmarks from @MunrosBooks. Now that we're living in Victoria again, we can always get more!

Like so many of you, I’m pained by these recent tragedies. And I’m exhausted by a heartbreak that never seems to stop. Right now it’s George, Breonna, and Ahmaud. Before that it was Eric, Sandra, and Michael. It just goes on, and on, and on.

#2019books: I took a trip back to 1986 to read @guygavrielkay’s Fionavar Tapestry series. This classic high fantasy series has roots in Irish & English myth and should be a staple in any fantasy reader’s library. If you missed it because...you weren’t born yet, it’s worth a read.

A white supremacist kills 2 African-Americans at a store. A right-wing extremist is caught mailing bombs. An anti-Semite kills multiple people in a synagogue. Thats’s just the past 3 days. They’re all domestic terrorists. Terrorists don’t get radicalized by the tooth fairy.

#Mosul Book Festival - crowds lining up for donated books. #ISIS banned non-religious books, music and almost everything else. Now there's a hunger for culture again. Thousands of people came out for books, music and theatre in a park where ISIS trained child fighters.

the idea that you, as the consumer of a story, get to change it if you don't like it is such a peculiar notion. You can hate it, complain about it, or never consume those stories again, but you don't get to *change* it. That's not how this works.
