Tropical Storm Debby’s effects may be felt all along the East Coast as the storm moves north. Red Cross disaster responders are working diligently across four states to support people impacted by Debby’s wrath of torrential rainfall, catastrophic flooding and downed power lines. This is still a dangerous storm expected to cause deadly flooding, with as much as 30 inches of rain predicted. Be prepared to evacuate quickly if local officials advise and follow these tips to stay safe: - Stay off flooded roads. A foot of water can carry your car away. - Move to higher ground before flooding begins. - Have a plan for your pets if you need to evacuate. - Update your loved ones with your evacuation plans.
