Un incident a eu lieu tard jeudi soir au Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom, où plusieurs fenêtres ont été endommagées par ce qui semble être des tirs d'arme à plomb. Le @SPVM et le Réseau de sécurité communautaire (CSN) de la Fédération CJA ont été immédiatement avisés, sont intervenus rapidement et mènent actuellement une enquête active, incluant l'analyse des caméras de surveillance.
Les différents intervenants resteront en contact étroit au cours des prochaines heures et des prochains jours afin de déterminer tous les tenants et aboutissants de cet événement. Selon les informations dont nous disposons actuellement, aucune menace active ne vise la communauté en ce moment. Néanmoins, dans un climat où l'antisémitisme est en hausse, nous prenons ce genre d'incident extrêmement au sérieux.
Bien que l'enquête soit toujours en cours, nous notons que c'est la deuxième fois en moins de six mois que le Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom est la cible d'un acte violent. Ça suffit, cela doit cesser. La communauté juive montréalaise en a assez de craindre pour sa sécurité et celle de ses enfants.
Nous rappelons à tous les membres de la communauté l'importance de rester vigilants. Si vous voyez quelque chose, dites-le. Signalez immédiatement toute activité suspecte au SPVM, ainsi qu'au Réseau de sécurité communautaire (CSN) en composant le 514-343-4343 ou via federationcja.org.

@bnaibrithcanada is aware of yet another shooting targeting a synagogue in Canada, this time the Temple Emanu-El Beth Sholom in Montreal was shot at with a pellet gun. This is the third time this synagogue has been targeted in the last two years. Thankfully, no one was injured.
This is a chilling reminder that Jewish institutions across the country remain under threat. This latest incident serves as another example of why we need governments at all levels to provide additional funding for security, including to cover the costs of paid duty officers. As our institutions continue to be the targets of gun fire, our federal and provincial leaders must expedite the passage of legislation that will allow armed private security to protect Jewish institutions.
B'nai Brith Canada will be offering our support to the congregation and our assistance to the SPVM as they investigate this hateful act.
