On November 11, I will take the first step of a journey that won’t be easy. At 11:20 AM, I will make a media statement in front of Parliament Hill in Ottawa before beginning an approximately 30-day walk to the Ontario Legislature in Toronto. Nearly 500 kilometres on foot, through the cold of a Canadian November. Why? Because families who survived devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria should not have to live through another crisis, this time fearing for their future in Canada. Their children have made friends, settled into schools and begun to call Canada home. They deserve the chance to keep building those lives. I know this walk will be difficult. But the uncertainty these families face every day is far harder to carry. I will take the steps. I hope others will stand with these families along the way. Members of the media are invited to join me at Parliament Hill at 11:20 AM. Every step is for the children and their families. #ExtendTS2023 #ChildrensRights

Ayrıntıları, tespitlerimi ve yorumlarımı Turkish Voice of Canada’da yeni yayınımda izleyin lütfen. youtu.be/pHqDHMTao7Y?si=GhMq…

The fear of packing up and starting over again after everything we rebuilt is real. CANADA IS OUR HOME. We ask for Justice so our children do not carry that fear. #ExtendTS2023

#ExtendTS2023 Our routines, jobs, children’s classrooms, and friendships are here. Leaving would mean losing the stability we have worked so hard to build. CANADA IS OUR HOME. We hope for a fair path forward.

Dear Prime Minister Carney, after your visit to strengthen trade relations with Türkiye, we hope you will also hear the voices of Turkish TS2023 work permit holders who have spent the past three years working, contributing, and building their lives in Canada. CANADA IS HOME. Please give our families a chance to stay. #ExtendTS2023 @MarkJCarney

A petition should be more than a record of concern. It is an opportunity for Parliament to examine evidence, hear affected families and consider workable options. @JulieDzerowicz @ElizabethMay #ExtendTS2023

We know immigration decisions are not simple. We respect the process and understand the challenges. But we hope there is room for a compassionate solution that allows TS2023 families to keep working and contributing. 🇨🇦 #ExtendTS2023

Trauma-informed policy values safety, predictability and the chance to regain control over one’s life. Families who have rebuilt after upheaval deserve a clear and workable transition, not prolonged uncertainty. @JulieDzerowicz #ExtendTS2023

A work permit can expire on a single date. Its consequences can unfold for years: employment, housing, schooling and family well-being. Please assess the human impact alongside the policy. @MarkJCarney #ExtendTS2023
