The Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, vide Notification S.O. 1259(E) dated 11.03.2026, has notified 2-Bromo-4-Methylpropiophenone (CAS No. 1451-82-7) as a controlled substance under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Regulation of Controlled Substances) Order, 2013, due to its increasing use in manufacturer of mephedrone (4-methylmethcathinone), a psychotropic substance.
All persons and entities engaged in the manufacture, distribution, sale, purchase, possession, storage, consumption, import or export or in offering 2-Bromo-4-Methylpropiophenone for sale or distribution, or in mediating its sale or purchase, including through any website, social media platform or other electronic means, are required to obtain registration number in Form A from the jurisdictional Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, in accordance with the NDPS (RCS) Order, 2013. All such firms/entities are requested to submit registration applications in Form B to the concerned NCB Zonal Unit well in advance, i.e., on or before Aug 7, 2026, so that the registration number is issued by NCB within the statutory period of 180 days from March 11, 2026: Narcotics Control Bureau

Renforcer le contrôle et la lutte contre la fraude dans le domaine du commerce électronique
Alors que le commerce électronique continue de transformer le commerce mondial, il ouvre de nouvelles perspectives aux activités illicites et criminelles. La dernière publication du Rapport de l’OMD sur le commerce illicite (édition 2025) l’a confirmé, en révélant que le commerce électronique représente désormais près de 50 % de l’ensemble des cas de commerce illicite signalés dans le monde.
Face à cette évolution, l’Organisation mondiale des douanes (OMD) a lancé la nouvelle plateforme e-CENcomm de lutte contre la fraude, un pôle fermé et spécialisé, réservé aux Membres de l’OMD, qui vise à favoriser un partage d’informations et une coopération sécurisée sur les questions de contrôle et de lutte contre la fraude liée au commerce électronique.
Le 9 octobre 2026, 128 correspondants nationaux représentant 105 administrations des douanes ont participé au lancement officiel en ligne de cette nouvelle plateforme.
Qu’est-ce que la plateforme e-CENcomm de lutte contre la fraude ?
La plateforme constitue un pôle fermé et spécialisé qui permet aux administrations des douanes de consulter, de partager et d’échanger des informations pertinentes sur le contrôle et la lutte contre la fraude dans l’environnement du commerce électronique.
Cette plateforme aidera les administrations des douanes à :
· garder une longueur d’avance sur les menaces émergentes et mieux comprendre les risques liés au commerce électronique ;
· échanger des informations de manière sûre et efficace au sein de la communauté douanière ;
· renforcer les capacités de contrôle et de lutte contre la fraude et partager les meilleures pratiques entre les Membres de l’OMD.
Ce lancement constitue une étape importante pour le renforcement de la coopération douanière internationale et le soutien aux Membres face à l’évolution des défis associés au commerce électronique.

🚨 Expanding ketamine and vape-based drug market exposed
A law enforcement operation targeting the synthetic drug market has seized 650 tonnes of drugs, precursors and pharmaceutical products.
The landmark operation, in terms of seizure volume, represents 89.6 million fatal doses removed from consumer markets.

For the first time in an INTERPOL operation targeting synthetic drugs, ketamine overtook methamphetamine in terms of volume, with 17 tonnes seized.
This shift reflects a global pattern of increasing non-medical ketamine use, driven, in part, by lower prices and easier manufacturing compared to other drugs. Ketamine seizure data shows large-scale manufacturing and trafficking in Southeast Asia as well as European-sourced postal supply chains feeding markets in Australia and the United States.
The operation also saw notable seizures of etomidate and DMT intended for use in vapes, pointing to a rapid shift in the synthetic drug trade.
