CD Projekt Red loremaster Patrick Mills confirmed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 takes place in 2078. He said the season happens “not long after” meeting Hanako at Embers in Cyberpunk 2077, adding that “time doesn’t stop in Cyberpunk.” Arasaka has less influence in the anime than it did during the game, which lines up with a post-2077 setting without declaring any single ending canon.
