Proof that you can talk about the law without putting the entire room to sleep. The secret? Putting down the dense brief (having a great group of advocates to work with) and just having a conversation. #advocacy

I love my roots in Alberta Canada. And tonight the @UofLethbridge was well represented at the @BondUniversity Faculty of Law Executive Dean Awards with student Brayde Turner taking top spot in Foundations of Canadian Law ... #lethbridge #alberta #Canada @CTVDory there is a high pressure system coming in from Australia and Brayde Turner is his name ...

The BC election results carry a warning for politicians worldwide: [1] Call an opportunistic snap election, pay the price. [2] Fail to read the room, lose the room. [3] Careerism is no substitute for connection. The electorate isn't sleeping, they're taking notes! #bcpoli

Great timing for your article @RoyceKoop for the Canadian Criminal Law students @BondUniversity tomorrow morning ... #cdnpoli
NEW COLUMN: Another appalling judicial decision Abhijeet Singh, Gurkaran Singh and Khushveer Toor were convicted of the brutal 2022 murders of seniors Arnold and Joanne De Jong. The details of the murders would turn your stomach. Nevertheless, Justice Brenda Brown ruled that making the killers wait 25 years before they can apply for parole violates their Charter right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment. Outrageous. The truth is elections have consequences. After 11 years of Liberal government and Liberal appointments to Canada's superior and appeal courts, this way of thinking in which the rights of criminals are prioritized over the rights of victims and their families has become deeply rooted among our judicial elites. So yes, elections have consequences. Just ask the family of Arnold and Joanne De Jong. winnipegsun.com/opinion/judg… #cdnpoli #cdnpolitics

Law students often ask for examples of adverse credibility findings. [2026] NSWSC 1200 (AI Film Production Ltd v Wilson) delivers: a Jones v Dunkel inference; findings that Rebel Wilson anonymously sought to draw negative attention to Amanda Ghost; repeated denials contrary to the true position; and findings that key allegations published online were false, lacked any reasonable basis, and were malicious. See [199]-[205] and [362]-[364]. This one may be finding its way into my Evidence Law materials.

I am predicting the Tories win tomorrow in BC ... and by a solid margin. Not only was this election called with 2 years left on the clock, the NDP and Green split vote is going to give the Tories a majority. I could definitely be wrong but I got a gut feeling this time ... #bcpoli #cdnpoli
It looks like it's over for David Eby and that the Conservatives will win in BC. But there's only one way to secure the results you want. VOTE!

Probably the toughest job in Parliament, and @AmandaCammMP has been a fierce advocate for victims while carrying out the Queensland Government's mandate. She is a leader, not a follower, and deserves credit for what she has achieved. Health takes precedence, and people on all sides of politics should pause before engaging in unnecessary speculation and assumptions. I'm a fan ... #qldpol
BREAKING: Queensland Minister Amanda Camm will step down as Queensland's child safety and domestic and family violence minister. 📲 Download the 4BC app and listen live for more details.

A fair question, particularly at a time when many Canadians are being told to support Canadian workers and businesses... and they want to. It's hard to reconcile calls to support Canada with awarding a $12M contract to an American firm when a Canadian bidder was within 1%. Canadians deserve more than patriotic rhetoric. They deserve patriotic decisions. #cdnpoli #abpoli
The Liberals talk about Buy Canadian, but awarded a nearly $12 million CRA contract to an American-owned company instead of the Commissionaires, Canada’s largest employer of veterans.

The reported price difference? Less than 1%.
Canadian jobs and veterans should count for something.

Great to see the results ... #federalism
Thank you, Alberta! I’m very pleased to see the initial results from Elections Alberta show widespread support for remaining in Canada. Albertans have voted for a stronger Alberta in a united Canada. Thank you to all Albertans who took time to vote on these critically important referendum questions.   Tomorrow evening, October 20, I will address Albertans live at 6:45 p.m. to discuss the results of all referendum questions for which results are available, and where our province goes from here.

Exam time can be tough, even for young people who seem like they’re coping. Stress doesn’t always look like shutting down or procrastinating, sometimes it looks like pushing through quietly. That’s why checking in matters, even when everything appears fine. You don’t need perfect words or a solution. Taking the time to ask 'are you OK?' can give them space to talk if they want to and remind them they don’t have to sit with their feelings alone. For tips and helpful study resources, visit ruok.org.au/academic-pressur… If you're sitting exams and it’s affecting you, support is available.
