Key post from @scoopercooper (Aug 24, 2026): “I’d be worried if I was a Canadian bank or developer etc with exposure to Iranian currency exchanges and Chinese underground banking, that is major exposure risk given Bessent’s announcement. Speaking of economic warfare. People don’t know the half of the tools available to DC.” @scoopercooper This was posted the same day Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent launched Operation Economic Outcast, an aggressive campaign to sever Iran’s financial lifelines (including digital assets, secondary sanctions on facilitators, and targeting networks enabling IRGC funding). home.treasury.gov

Long time coming. Big picture stuff here.
🇺🇸 Washington just went after Iran’s money in 🇨🇦 Canada. The US Treasury sanctioned 8 money services firms in Ontario and British Columbia, which it says moved money for sanctioned Iranian entities. They’re now cut off from the dollar system. “Canada cannot be a safe haven,” said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The same day, FinCEN cut off crypto exchange MEXC Global from US banks. It says MEXC handled at least $ 16bn of illicit transactions linked to Iran, North Korea and Russia. It’s the money side of the blockade. Iran’s oil exports are already close to zero under the US Navy. Now Washington is closing the channels that move what’s left of its cash. The timing is awkward for Ottawa. Carney is negotiating a trade deal with Trump and the sanctions land in Canada’s own exchange shops.

Don’t blame me. I voted Option 2.
The biggest unreported story from yesterday: Carney snuck into the budget a massive immigration increase with the LARGEST NUMBER OF NEW PERMANENT RESIDENTS EVER next year. Nearly 200,000 more than Trudeau’s highest-ever number year. When we have a shortage of jobs, homes, and health care. Now we know why Carney snuck his immigration plan into a budget when everyone was distracted by the midterms and right before Parliament shuts for 10 days. Unacceptable. This needs a real debate.

🇮🇳🛬🇨🇦🪦 : In 2022 three men broke into a home in Canada, suffocated the husband with a bag over his head, duct taped the wife's mouth & used a screwdriver to kill her, after they beat her. A BC judge ruled not allowing the three men to apply for early parole, was cruel & unusual punishment. See quotes below & link for more information. "Justice Brenda Brown ruled Monday that the section of the Criminal Code prescribing 25 years of parole ineligibility infringes upon the Charter of Rights and Freedoms' guarantees against cruel and unusual punishment." "Khushveer Toor, Abhijeet Singh and Gurkaran Singh — each in their 20s — all face mandatory life sentences for killing the De Jongs in their Abbotsford home in May 2022." 77-year-old Arnold De Jong & 76-year-old Joanne De Jong, were the victims of torture and then murdered by thugs in their 20s. cbc.ca/news/canada/british-c… One of the murderers had only been in Canada for 1 month, on a student visa.

The people have a right to know, @JeromyYYC. The money was taken from taxpayers for specific purposes. It wasn’t #yyccc’s to use as a political slush fund. Doing so would constitute fraud. Where did OUR money go? We have a right to know before ANYONE asks for more.

Councillor DJ Kelly claims Calgary hasn’t collected enough from ratepayers to maintain its water system. Mayor Jeromy similarly blames chronic underfunding. Alberta’s independent Goldie report tells a different story. /2

Today's report on Calgary's water is absolutely devastating for Nenshi. In January, he blamed City Staff for everything, claiming he and Council were never told. It turns out he was told and his office debated it, but he never told Council. So now, he says he doesn't remember.

A Muslim, a trans Neo-Marxist, Mark Carney, Mark Wiseman, and a cowboy walk into a bar. The bartender looks up, shakes his head, and asks, "What is this, a globalist roundtable or a hostage situation?" The trans Neo-Marxist slams their fist on the counter and yells, "We are here to deconstruct the systemic, heteronormative hegemony of this establishment!" The Muslim nods politely and says, "I am simply expecting a clean glass, respect for my tradition, and a quiet table." Mark Carney steps up, smooths his tie, and says, "If we restructure the bar's capital allocation, mandate a carbon offset on every pint, and align the tap list with ESG metrics, we can achieve net-zero hangovers by 2050." Mark Wiseman pulls out a ledger and adds, "And if we leverage the public pension fund to buy out the brewery, we can privatize the profits, institutionalize the risk, and charge the patrons a management fee just to stand on the floorboards." The cowboy—settled on the end stool, dust still on his boots—takes a slow sip of black coffee, pushes his hat back, and looks the four of them over. "Well," the cowboy says, "the Neo-Marxist wants to burn the saloon down, the Muslim wants to build a wall down the middle of it, and the two bankers are fixin' to sell the roof out from over all our heads while chargin' us rent for the rain." The bartender slides a fresh bottle of rye down to the cowboy and asks, "So what’s the verdict, Tex?" The cowboy leans in, spits into the spittoon, and says: "The verdict is, you fellas can talk all the managed theory you want... but the second you try to brand a free man's herd, you're gonna find out how fast this range gets unmanageable."

Dear Calgarians, which do you prefer? Long showers & being able to flush a toilet whenever you please? Or having bike lanes, public art & a library overrun with homeless people? Think of that when casting a provincial ballot next year. The man who prioritized fluff while neglecting core infrastructure needs now wants to run the entire province.

Take notice Liberals
The United States will not tolerate subversive communist networks in our hemisphere. The Marxist Cuban regime relies on a web of state-owned enterprises, joint ventures, and offshore intermediaries to keep its systems running, and its foreign backers supply the military equipment that helps sustain the regime’s military forces and enables persistent threats to the American homeland. Today, I'm sanctioning eight entities and two individuals associated with the regime’s financial and shipping network, state-owned import and technical-support entities, and China-based suppliers of the regime's military forces. state.gov/releases/office-of…

One of the most critical next phases for the Alberta independence movement is institutionalization. Whether through political parties, effective organizations, or both, we need permanent institutions capable of sustaining and advancing the movement for years to come.

Fair enough; now be consistent. Tell the Canucks, Oilers, Flames, Jets, Leafs, Senators & Habs that all their Russian players are unwelcome in Canada. Then tell the other NHL teams that their Russian players cannot enter Canada or play games in this country. Politics has no place in sport.

BREAKING: Nenshi’s office ignored dire warnings that caused Calgary water chaos. When water main issues were put on Nenshi's desk, he shrugged, and deliberately withheld information from city council. The NDP leader should resign. junonews.com/p/nenshi-office… @junonewscom
