Last few of days to comment on the #BTStreetHub Op. 173 Kingston Road (Near Merton Park Tram Crossing)
It is actually being placed in a Tree pit? & @Merton_Council has already recommended Grant Permission BEFORE comments closed!
See the mock-up in place & photo of how it is used.
ALT In the picture, you can see the border of the tree pit (now filled with tarmac) after poor Council Street Tree management.
ALT Wider than a phone box, in use it blocks even more of the pavement as the user has to stand on the side (designed so user doesn't block ads, but no consideration for blocking pedestrians).

Does @FenniesUK Nursery think their "environmental awareness from an early age" & involvement with @EcoSchools allow for damage to a tree with a long-standing TPO Tree Protection Order at their new #RaynesPark site? @campbellandcoa1

@Merton_Council @MartinWhelton Any chance Merton could get involved and make this the norm rather than the exception? @WimSoc @MitchamCrktGrn @ravensburygrove @wimbledonfriend @MertonMatters @MertonTrees @HaydonsNorth @Clarion_Group
Over the last few months I’ve been working to create a project that puts boxes of wildlife goodies free into new build homes, to encourage people to make their new gardens attractive to wildlife. it’s called Nature Box and the first ones head out very soon. #rewilding

Another sad incident for @MertonTrees - this one hit by a truck on Quicks Road. We've reported to the council as SRQ-730469-L3Q2D1 along with the registration of the vehicle involved. Let's make sure their insurance gets this fixed @Merton_Council.

Just watched @AttenboroughSir at COP26 and his inspirational speech highlighting role of new trees as part of climate change solution. Merton council’s approach is to cut them down to help sell more cars! I despair.

MPs. Please support the amendment to the #EnvironmentBill voted for by the House of Lords, committing to targets to reduce levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5), one of the most harmful pollutants, within WHO guidelines by 2030. @S_Hammond #VoteCleanAir

The benefits of trees in protecting the world from overheating are well known, but their importance in the urban environment is often under-appreciated, argues John Tarlton.

Utterly disgraceful. Look at what’s happening in the world - highest temps ever, wildfires and flooding. To replace that huge tree in terms of its value to the environment will take 50 years. We haven’t got 50 years! @ProMertonTrees #wildfires #ClimateEmergency

Walking down Wimbledon Hill & it's astounding the difference trees make to both temperature & air pollution. We need to plant more trees on all major London roads.#ClimateEmergency

@Merton_Council Pls respond. We need to LEARN from the past and STOP chopping down trees!
#Trees produce oxygen, clean soil, control noise pollution and improve #biodiversity. Replanting a seedling is not the same!
