.@cllr_alambritis publicly shamed on @ThisisRiverside for duping a local business into signing a support letter - he had supplied! - for the Mitcham Bridge without communicating the full truth about the scale of destruction. When did @MertonLabour rule that truth isn't necessary?
Extraordinary. Residents told @Merton_Council, @Siobhain_Mc & the then cllr for waste that farming out waste couldn't & wouldn't work. And here we are, years later with filthy streets & millions wasted! #muckymerton @MertonGreens @MertonLibDems @MertonLabour @MertonTories
Merton Council will develop a new service for street cleaning & waste collections, after agreeing not to renew the current contract with Veolia when it ends in 2025.

ALT Leader of Merton Council Quote Card: “The decision Cabinet is taking today marks the beginning of building a waste service that works for our residents and businesses, and ensure cleaner streets across Merton.”
6 weeks after being assured things would change (& given an action plan) the streets of Mitcham still look like an open bin. This is my street this morning. No sweeping, @VeoliaUK dropping rubbish everywhere during collection & no proper storage @AJ_Fairclough @RossGarrod

Good morning @Merton_Council and @VeoliaUK - the bins on Revelstoke Road haven’t been emptied since Friday and are now in an appalling state. People are discarding bags of dog sh*t on the pavement as the bins are full!! Please get a crew round to do it ASAP! cc. @RossGarrod
Morden Hall Road has been disgusting for *weeks*. 3 reports to @fixmystreet, 3 times I've been told the work has been done, 3 times zilch. The same rubbish being joined by more, week in week out. Why must residents endure this indignity? #muckymerton @RossGarrod @VeoliaUK

Merton Council continues to send separated recycling to the South London Waste Partnership incinerator under the new administration.
Their actions continue to pollute the air in the most deprived parts of the borough, where life expectancy is 5 to 7 years less than the west.

On the advice of @HistoricEngland & @Merton_Council we've reported the loss of three bronze swords from the Grade II listed war memorial as a heritage crime to @metpoliceuk. We are exploring options for their replacement - the memorial was originally funded by public subscription

When @Merton_Council @VeoliaUK say they'll collect on Merton High St after the time band closes, I wonder if they'll ever measure the wait in hours rather than days. @south_wimbledon #MuckyMerton
This was against the law @Zak_Dada! Not only that, shooting through a fence you could have hit a neighbour, pet or bird ..!
@MertonLabour: do you vet your candidates? I recall a man you vaunted not long ago who bragged about voting illegally ...
“Alright guys … it’s Zak Dada .. and today I’m going to bring you a review of the KWCTT-33 Tokarev ..”
YouTube post from June 2016 …
Love the bit at 5:35 where he puts a hole through his garden fence ..😱

@Merton_Council @Merton_CEO @CleanUpMerton @MertonMatters Here's the picture from 6.30pm, now over 12 hours since I reported it. The nature of the waste and location makes it an Urgent Cleansing Event, so isn't that a 300% failure per SPI 16c of Appendix 1 in your SLWP contract??

The poor performance of @VeoliaUK in collecting their green bags continues. Here's another couple reported. We'll be checking they're gone within the contracted 24 hours.

Grenfell and the environs today- utterly disgusting as every other day. Just submitted 5 reports to clear the fly tips, bags, to sweep the pavement and clear the weeds. I despair- when will @Merton_Council do something @the_one_n_ollie @SW_Londoner @BBCLondonNews @Siobhain_Mc

Fantastic community effort today on the #RiverWandle clean-up with @SE_Rivers_Trust bikes, dustbins, bowling balls included in over 100 black bags of rubbish collected #muckymerton
How can @Siobhain_Mc, who has not been selected by *any* resident to have influence in the running of the council, wield so much power over our local authority? It's not right and it's not democratic. #mertonsleaze
