Moved to #Abuja on the 10th of Jan. 2021 and immediately fell in love with the city. I made amazing friends here, fell in love, lost my love, fell in love again, lost it again, and found it a final time.
Of all the cities around the world that I’ve been privileged to visit, nowhere equally excites me and nurtures me as much as Abuja.
For the purpose of chasing a big goal, I’ve officially left Abuja for a bit. Nairobi will be home for a while. I hope my time in Nairobi is just as beautiful and I hope to learn from our siblings in the East. I hope to thrive here and experience as much as I possibly can in this new city.
To my friends in Abuja, I love y’all and l will miss you so much. But as you know I can’t stay away for too long, so expect to see me pretty soon, and actually, maybe even more often than you saw me prior to this development.
Folks in #Nairobi, I’m excited to meet y’all. I’ve visited Nairobi almost ten times and I absolutely love the people. I’m excited to form new communities in Nairobi, make new friends, and contribute in any way I can to the general community. If you are based in Nairobi and interested in good #whiskey, the #Catholic church, #football (European), discussing political ideology, education and technology, please hit me up. I’d love to connect and we can grab drinks sometime.
All my love,
Michael

what’s happening? why’s everyone stockpiling food and supplies?
more importantly, why’s no one asking us in nigeria to stockpile anything?!
For a multi-billion dollar company to have customer service that is this bad, it has to be deliberate. @mtnng

tomorrow is the last ever Pythagorean theorem day that we will ever get to experience. There’s only ever been 12 of them ever in our lifetime. And they will never be one ever again. How fun!🙂

I texted my children that we got the puppy they’ve been begging me for and sent them a link with pictures. 🐶When they clicked on the link, it took them to a webpage that said YOU’RE GROUNDED. They’ll be spending the weekend retaking our family’s cybersecurity training course.

It’s funny, you always think about how many kids you ‘want’ to have in the abstract. ‘3 or 4 feels right. Idk maybe 5 feels too much.’
We have 4 little ones under 6 - our newest little girl’s name is Clare.
I might have told you in a previous life that I only ever wanted 2 or 3 kids.
But that’s not how it actually happens. Kids aren’t numbers in the abstract.
The real question is this ‘would you rather have a world where Clare exists or not?’
And then it’s not even close. Of course.
Here’s to as many more Clares as the Lord will give us.

Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.
