The thesis is this: there's a solid connection between potassium intake and lack of obesity:

Obviously this doesn't have to be because of the specific nutrient itself, there's always healthy user bias, correlation-not-causation, blah blah blah I get it.
But what if there IS some kind of causal effect? It's worth at least considering. Finding ways to boost potassium and zinc (fruit and meat), IMHO, could drive reduced overall hunger and food consumption once the body's had its fill.
Why not?
This came about because of the pretty apparent connections between potassium intake and reduced obesity

So I'm not completely crazy here
Yeah man the whole point of this place is discussion.
But if the protein leverage hypothesis has legs, why not the "zinc leverage hypothesis"? Why not stearic acid (which is also satiating)?

I like Mike. But he's terminally on Twitter, which means he sees the AI and political doom and gloom in excessive amounts.
There's definitely a "thing" in the Twitter air since the Claude Opus 5.5 release. Many are realizing that this AI thing is going to accelerate in ways we can't fathom, it's just a manner of time now. The model legit doesn't make mistakes. It's better than most humans at nearly everything. And it's the one they've let us access.
But I don't think there's immediate pressure. Just that... we're not going back

I took Waymo 5 times on a trip in Phoenix, it was so amazing. Despite Waymo not being the best tech.
Nobody (in the car) listening to o ur conversations and chiming in. I hope they can keep em clean.
We'll of course need to deport a good 150 million people once this is up and running everywhere

No, it's because Jar Jar sucked and Lucas shit the bed on the original plan, which was to make him actually a sith lord
One bad character can ruin movies, not the first or last time it's happened
No, I'm thinking something like "protein leverage" but instead "mineral leverage"
Like, your body's gonna be hungry til it gets enough zinc. Totally a theory, have researched it zero

Ca. 2010 when living in LA, I had 6 friends fly in, liquored them up, then we took off for Vegas overnight in a minivan I rented for a bachelor party. Epic weekend non stop.
That ride was awesome. I never spoke ill of minivans again
I was specifically considering the potatoes to rice comparison here
I personally believe there's a series of mineral nutrients (one of which includes potassium) that support satiety

Potassium in potatoes makes an impact, there's a good bit of data connecting potassium intake to not being obese

Fully agreed but we're not the main demographic, sadly. This is catered towards the tragedy of the commons.
Having a smarter one with nine of this will be what we need, but not for the normies

But definitely not on the main page

Thanks! I definitely chopped this one down a good bit. The long form video goes much slower

The drinks with phosphoric acid are by far the worst
You don't see that in too many energy drinks, fortunately, but it's out there
